The Cowboys May Have Been Better Off Not Playing PS Game 2

Not much you can do. You play what's on the schedule and it's typically the rookie class that can benefit from those reps. Injuries are a part of the game. Wish these guys well in recovery, and hope they are back to 100% this time next year. For now it's up to other guys to get opportunities. This certainly wont be the last injuries the Cowboys suffer this season, and unfortunately, these are probably pretty mild compared to what is likely to happen at some point during the season.

It was. There is not a single backup OL on the roster that I like. Asim remains to be seen.
At least not one that can fill in meaningful minutes THIS year.

I would be resigning Peters ASAP and he is your backup at both guard and tackle. Problem solved.

He may not be able to play anymore. He's 41.

Don’t know much about Land other than he is UDFA and has been having a decent PS in terms of pressuring the QB.

Hopefully he takes advantage of this opportunity
look up what he's did in college..

I realize it's a small school but Armstrong and Pollard went to small schools, we seen guys like TO and didn't Jerry Rice go to a small schools, where did Larry Allen come from like Sonoma state.. But recently we saw a guy like Armstrong light it up in college but didn't get a lot of credit in the draft because of it was a small school but its paying off for him now.

I think this Isaiah land if you look what he did in college, he got a lot of accolades he's one of the best in his conference whatever that was..

he literally put up huge numbers but again small school I think he has that Overshown type, not saying he can be that guy but that's what I'm getting from people who actually know what he did in college..

Two of the players I was most excited about going into the year, Stephens and Overshown, are out for the year.

Usually, I'm excited after the games. This year, it left me with a sick feeling.
Happens every year to every team.

Stephens wasn't going to make the team anyway, so that was a fortunate injury actually. The turf got them both.

The NFL insists on playing on turf so they can have concerts and monster truck shows year round. Anybody who's ever walked on turf can feel the difference, and if you've ever played anything on it, you know how much more sore you are the next day compared to grass.

Money drives all, and the preseason is free money for Jerry and the owners. Those games aren't going anywhere.

To be honest, if you are going to get major injuries the best time for this to happen is training camp. Cuts are soon to happen, and if this happens later in the year.....well

Did they have a choice? They weren’t playing starters and were being conservative with 2-3 teamers. It’s how football goes.

Dak got hurt 1st game last year. So much for protecting him.

It can take a full year for a player to return to form after an ACL, if they do return to form. Both Stephens and Overshown may not look the same until year three. They were both developing nicely, and this is going to set them back.
Another CZ post of worst case scenario. No optimizing, just negativity.

Just stating the facts. Why not take the opposite take?
I’m stating the facts. It can take a full year for a player to return to form after an ACL. Never said it would but it can depending on the player. The problem for the two players we lost is they’re rookies and missing a full season with a serious injury is setting them back. If you consider information like this negative, then simply put me on ignore.

You said he’ll not be the same for his first 3 years.
