Good thread man. The entire board was shouting for us to exercise the option to skip the game. Stupid team didn’t listen to us. Rats.

And he maybe back 100% right?
Pretty much all players these days return to 100% after an ACL, but not all players return to the same form they had prior to the injury. Michael Gallup didn’t return to form last season. Remains to be seen if he ever will. Not saying Overshown and Stephens won’t return to form. We’ll find out next year.

And not having any depth at key positions is this team's MO. In for a long season............................
Do explain after all this off season talk, just how bare the cubbards appear to you!!

Happens every year to every team.

Stephens wasn't going to make the team anyway, so that was a fortunate injury actually. The turf got them both.

The NFL insists on playing on turf so they can have concerts and monster truck shows year round. Anybody who's ever walked on turf can feel the difference, and if you've ever played anything on it, you know how much more sore you are the next day compared to grass.

Money drives all, and the preseason is free money for Jerry and the owners. Those games aren't going anywhere.
On the contrary, Stephens would at the very least landed on the practice squad and there protected.

Turf is very sophisticated today and isn't the cause for many injuries today, at all. I heard it gets cold on the polar caps as well...

look up what he's did in college..

I realize it's a small school but Armstrong and Pollard went to small schools, we seen guys like TO and didn't Jerry Rice go to a small schools, where did Larry Allen come from like Sonoma state.. But recently we saw a guy like Armstrong light it up in college but didn't get a lot of credit in the draft because of it was a small school but its paying off for him now.

I think this Isaiah land if you look what he did in college, he got a lot of accolades he's one of the best in his conference whatever that was..

he literally put up huge numbers but again small school I think he has that Overshown type, not saying he can be that guy but that's what I'm getting from people who actually know what he did in college..
I also played at a NAIA school - Texas A&I (now A&M-Kingsville). Know how many Hall of Famers came from there? Those started in 1968 with the graduation of Eugene Upshaw and also included John Randle and Darrell Green. Know how many who played in NFL Pro Bowls...quite a few.

For a well conditioned athlete recovery at that age is to be fully expected and achieved to top end levels.
For it to be fully expected, it's extremely rare.

No 40+ year old that's not a QB plays at a top level. Absolutely does not happen. In the few instances where non-QB 40 year olds have played, they've been on limited rotations. Frankly, I can't even think of one. Who else is 40 who isn't a QB who is still playing? And that means they're playing full time at a top level?

You've gone bonkers w/ this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No protection for players on PS, except that if they are claimed, they must be on the claiming team's roster.

Overshown has tremendous potential— BUT he is simply a role player at this time. At best— your 3rd LB in specific packages and formations.

Between Cox and Harper (or a FA TBD), or a clever deployment of Kearse, Wilson, Thomas, Bell etc… we should be able to recover just fine from losing Overshown.

This injury hurts his growth and development— which sucks— but as far as an on field impact— I think it will be relatively minimal.

Stephens is a developmental TE. Nothing more at this time.

The sky is not falling.
I never said the Sky was falling. Again, some of you are missing the point: that these players are also people....

I'm talking about how I feel for the person as much as I'm disappointed about the player. I feel bad for slightly selfish reasons, sure. I won't get to see him play. On the other hand, I feel really bad for a guy like him to have his dreams crushed or postponed. It's terrible, even if not for you, specifically. I'm sure he'll bounce back. And I'm sure he'll have some positive words to say.

In the long run, it'll probably make this guy stronger. Still, happened to a really good person. That's probably why I felt/feel a little sick for him.

I have played on turf. In high school it was Westood and Weslake both had turf. But you're right. It's a different surface.

Gotcha… Injuries absolutely suck, and it’s always hard to watch a promising rookie go down before playing a snap in a real game.
