The Cowboys "Mount Rushmore"

I think people tend to forget how dominant those 90's defenses were. And there is no way that Landry would have abandoned the flex let alone bring in a college defense (4-3 over) that changed the landscape of the NFL. At the time the 3-4 was the most dominant defense.

As a matter of fact, Coach Landry had already moved away from the Flex, just prior to being fired and I'll give you another interesting fact. The Cowboys had already spoken with Jimmy Johnson and was interested in bringing him to Dallas. If Jerry had not bought the Cowboys, it's possible that Jimmy Johnson could have come to Dallas as one of Coach Landry's assistants so it's possible that the Cowboy's Defense could have looked very much like it did on those 90s teams.

-Landry (obvious)
-Staubach (obvious)
-E. Smith (Leading rusher, main cog in our championship runs imo)
-Lily or Schramm (might lean slightly to Schramm just because of his NFL influences, Lily does get a ton of respect from other fan bases even if they are Cowboy haters).

Ill admit i havent seen 4 of the 5 play (manage) growing up, but just from reading about them, thats how i would rank them.

From my experiences (that im able to remember, since about 1992):

-E. Smith
-T. Aikman
-J. Witten
-Irvin or Ware (jeez that 4th spot is so hard to figure out lol)

Tom Landry - no problem

Roger Staubach - absolutely

Emmitt Smith - of course

Tony Dorsett - huh? LOL

I loved Dorsett, one of my all-time greats, but he does not go on that list of four over Tex Schramm, Bob Lilly, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Jimmy Johnson, Larry Allen, or even (gulp)...Jerry Jones.

Ridiculous.
