The Eagles have really struggled of late with injuries and I am less sanguine about their O-line than others are. They will miss Dawkins, Bradley, and especially Johnson (RIP).

The Giants I think will be very good again but not as good as they have been. As many people have said, I think losing Plax hurts their passing game. But it will hurt their running game as well, as they lack a receiver which teams will respect as a true deep threat. Therefore I expect the Giants to face 8-in-the-box more, which will slow their running game.

Giants 11-5
Commanders 10-6
Eagles 10-6 or 9-7
Cowboys 6-10, 7-9, or 8-8

The Commanders have by far the worst QB in the division, aging, injury prone skill players and a defense that is banking on a rookie playing out of position to generate some semblence of a pass rush

11-5

Split with NFC East.

And we will find a way to lose 2 other games.

Actually I was being polite in someone else's house. But given that you have demanded honesty, my most honest prediction for the Cowboys is 6-10. They may struggle to 8-8, hence my prior prediction.

A great backfield is less relevant when a team has the o-line issues that the Cowboys face. You guys also downgraded at WR in the offseason. And you'd better hope that Ware has about 100 sacks or the poor Cowboys secondary is going to be shredded weekly.

The last time the Cowboys took the field, they were thrashed 44-6. I expect more of the same this season.

Please explain this to me.

You as a 'Skins fan predict a better record for the 'Skins than the Cowboys and claim we have o-line problems.

Yet, the 'Skins have far greater problems along their o-line than the Cowboys.

Further, you say the "poor" secondary will get shredded. I disagree with this assessment of our secondary.

Please explain why our healthy, good to great line will be a problem, yet your average (and that's being generous) line...which has injuries all up and down it, will not.

There's a thread at ES proclaiming that the great Fred "One Rep" Smoot has taken over the leadership of their secondary, and that this is the kind of thing championship teams are built on.

I kid you not. :lmao2:

If that is true (I don't go to ES), that would be foolish. Smoot will be riding the pine by Halloween as Tryon and Barnes get their sea legs.

But you live here in the COWBOYSZONE... Tell the truth, you're a closet Boyz fan aren't you? It's ok, confess. Actually, the fact that you're here all the time says it all.....:laugh2:

I was pretty negative with my first guess, but after OTA's and training camp so far, barring injuries, I think 11-5 is the number. I believe they will be well balanced with the D becoming dominant later in the season.

Let's hope Romo can win one in December.

Dallas 12-4 . Giants 10-6 , Commanders 10-6 benefit from a nice schedule, Eagles 8-8.

I will try to keep my homerism out of this post. All 4 NFCE teams benefit from playing the AFC West. that is 3-4 wins easily for all of us. I doubt there will be any in division sweeps, our defenses are all top 10 (probably top 7) and even the Skins offense brings life to some games (I believe we will do far better this yr, but again, I know this crowd ain't buying it, so lets see on the field); so all the teams will be at least 6-7 wins right there. Throw in 2-3 each from the NFC South (TB, and Atlanta are not for real) and the lowest an NFC E team should have is 8 wins. assuming the last two team are duds (like detroit/stlouis for the Skins) and the NFC E teams will atleast split those 2 games that are uncommon, we all are at 9 wins.

From there, let the games begin.

(For my homerism post)

Giants 11-5 (Until the Skins beat them, i am going to give them props)
Commanders 10-6 (Beating the mighty Rams and Lions)
Cowboys 9-7 (losing to Green Bay, but destroying Seattle)
Eagles 9-7 (I may put them lower and have them get sweeped by at least one division team, if there D keeps taking these hits and their OLine doesn't show up)

TonyRomo#9

our defense has no weaknesses now, we have the corners, we have the pass rush, and we now dont have to cover up the safety.. our offense will improve upon last years 22pts a game, at the very least equal it. with felix, martyB maturing into the deadly weapons they are, Roy knowing the system, and witten being witten. we will probably be better on offense..

no team can match our output against our defense.
if everyone stays healthy and we play to our potential. we should win all of them.. as it is foolish to believe we won't have any injuries at all. we can only hope they are minimal. and not to key players..
factoring in injury chance and things like that.. i say..

14-2, so long as romo stays injury free.. if not we will be more like 9-7.

@tb Win, big win, this is a second class team

Nyg Win, eli is gunna have a terrible year with no passing game, and the run game will slow down because of it, noone can run against 9 man fronts all day.

Car Win, if newman is healthy, he shuts Steve Smith down every time they meet.. which inturn means we can make them 1-dimensional. if newman is not playing this could go either way.

@den Win, no QB, No problem.. he wont do much against our secondary, not enough to keep up with our offense.

@kc Win, cassel will show that anyone should have done well with the weapons he had in NE, i think he will Disappear in KC. Ware will destroy him.

Atl Win, this will be the closest game yet, atlanta has become very good. great passing game, and running game.. we will need our corners to be healthy, and keep pressure on Ryan.. if we are healthy we can do that. we should be able to put alot of points up on their Defense.

Sea Win, seattle will be better then people think, hasselback will have a good year with his first topflight WR in a while. but julius scares nobody, and Housh can't beat us alone..

@phi Win, philly is nothing near the team it was last year, half the team is hurt. they lost not only their Defenses leader, but the man behind the curtain. theyre schemes were their strength, not their talent. their defense will drop off considerably. we will put 30+ on them, and empty that stadium.

@gb this is the second real tough game we have, in the meadowlands in the cold. a team without a glaring weakness.. i think we will get after rodgers and make him make mistakes.. we will play more two tight sets in this game. running alot will take away their best weapon on defense, their two corners.. with one WR on the field we will take their 2nd corner out of the game.. is he supposed to cover witten or martyB they are to big..he will have matchup problems all game long. and we will run

Was Win. washington is terrible no way around it. haynesworth only blew up on his contract year, now he will be fat, fat and happy.. they have no QB, the most fragile RB in the league. no offensive line. we should start scandrick now if we arent allready, as he matches up better against their tiny WRs. we will probably shut them out... 30+ to 0

Oak Win, it is oakland... need i say more..

@nyg Win, while the giants are going to be very 1diminsional this year, it should be a tough game in the meadowlands late in the year. as the only thing they can do is run, which will suit them well in the conditions.. luckily we will have the horses to run alot too. where brandon jacobs and marion the barber will epitomize the tone of this smash em up game. felix will be the difference maker, getting away for 2 nice long TDs

Sd Win, LT will show that he is done as a premier back, he will still be good enough to keep people honest and take some pressure off rivers.
TE will have a big day, Witten, martyB, and gates.. we will exploit whichever side merriman is on is gunna be open alot for our TEs. this one will be close, and have alot of points.. but we are better and more well rounded on both sides of the ball. and at home.

@no Win, we should put 40 up on their defense. and we are to fast on D for their dink and dunk game to work any longer.

@was Win, again washington is trash.

Phi Win, we might be resting players by now, that is their chance.. otherwise we will cut up their D again.

yes i set these all as wins, cause we should, if healthy win all of these, there are no top flight teams on this schedule. no NE, no pitt.. we shouldn't have any problems. i don't expect it to exactly go as planned though, like i said earlier.. i think 14-2.. we might drop on to the philly, and maybe the atlanta game.

Apparently it has been passed to many fans on this site. no one in the division is going 14-2, not even Dallas. It's the beginning of the season I understand the eternal optimism, and your team could have a very good year. But to ignore what has been your MO for the last few years, because this is your year, is silly.

I predict that by week 8, all 4 teams will have atleast 5 wins, probably 6, and the losses coming from the other NFC E teams.

The media will have the following reactions:

Giants: They have really come together, they know what it means to be a team.

Philly: They have dedicated this to Jim Johnson, they are playing with intensity.

Cowboys: They look good haven't missed a beat without TO, but can they keep it up in Dec/Jan??

Commanders: The team is in the same spot as last year, wait for the 2nd half collapse.

So by week 8 it will still be close, then comes the fun.

Oh, and TonyRomo#9, you can pass the pipe next, cuz there is no way you are putting 30 points on the Skins D.

A couple of weeks ago I thought it would be us and Filthy fighting it out for the division. That's until Filthy players started dropping like flies. I feel very confident we will win the East, especially with Filthy having so many issues now. I did not predict the Giants making the playoffs because I think their offense will have problems scoring due to a lack of production at the WR spot. Their defense will be tough, especially up front, but I'm not sure it will be enough. If Filthy keeps losing players, I might change my pick to the Giants getting in on a wildcard rather than the Pigeons. As for the Skins, what can you say? No QB, and that says it all. Their young WRs are not progressing at all and their Oline is old and injured. How any remotely informed Skin fan can call us out regarding our Oline is beyond me. Our Oline looks like the one we had in 92-93 compared with what the Skins have. Their D will be good, but I don't think it'll be as successful as last year. No pass rush and Fatty will not make as big of an impact as Skins fans are hoping. Very good D, but not great. We WILL sweep the Skins and most likely split with the Giants and Pigeons. 11-5 overall for us, maybe 12-4. Skins 8-8 at best. I'll wait on my Giant and Pigeons records until after preseason is over and we see which players are still standing. Hopefully injuries won't cause me to reconsider our record as well.

Predicting records is so difficult. It's hard to predict what teams will deal with. I was certain we would have no trouble making the playoffs last year. Our team was the most talented in the NFC.

But it certainly didn't win us anything.

I still think we're the most talented team in the East. We just seem to lack that certain edge.

I wouldn't be surprised if we wound up 13-3 again. I also wouldn't be surprised to see us finish 5-11. So many things happen.

If we remain healthy...especially at QB....I think we'll win 10 games. I think our offense will be better this year. It won't be as explosive....but I think we'll move the ball a bit better. I actually think we'll see an offense that reminds us a bit of our 90s teams.

I know a couple of folks were pointing out the last loss to Philly as an indicator of how poor our secondary/defense will be.

Are you kidding?

Philly scored something like 21 points directly off TOs alone. The defense didn't play their best game....but they didn't play too terribly....I put most of the problems on the offense's lack of taking care of the ball.

We lost PacMan, Henry, and Roy Williams from our secondary. But really, they weren't reliable last season. The best play from our secondary last year came arguably from Scandrick and Jenkins. Newman will also be back (hopefully).

Brooking is an upgrade as is Sensabaugh. Losing Ellis and Canty will hurt, but I think Spencer and Olshansky are capable replacements.

Defense is the least of our worries.
