The Cowboys Record this season will be?

9-7. I am hoping 11-5. We have the QB, but are thin at the OL. One injury and it starts going down fast.

10-6
Secure Wild Card
Win First-Round Playoff Game
Season Over/Go Home

I hope I'm wrong.

Apparently it has been passed to many fans on this site. no one in the division is going 14-2, not even Dallas. It's the beginning of the season I understand the eternal optimism, and your team could have a very good year. But to ignore what has been your MO for the last few years, because this is your year, is silly.

I predict that by week 8, all 4 teams will have atleast 5 wins, probably 6, and the losses coming from the other NFC E teams.

The media will have the following reactions:

Giants: They have really come together, they know what it means to be a team.

Philly: They have dedicated this to Jim Johnson, they are playing with intensity..

Cowboys: They look good haven't missed a beat without TO, but can they keep it up in Dec/Jan??

Commanders: The team is in the same spot as last year, wait for the 2nd half collapse.

So by week 8 it will still be close, then comes the fun.

Oh, and TonyRomo#9, you can pass the pipe next, cuz there is no way you are putting 30 points on the Skins D.

I know my team's MO, trust me. It hasn't beenpleasant being a cowboys fan the last 3 years but let's be realistic, "6-10" is borderline ridiculous.

Who did we lose? Pacman, Henry, Tank, Canty, Ellis, TO, Roy W. Roy was a liablity in coverage and everyone knew it, he's a stand up guy but he just could not cover. Pacman and Henry were average CB's, nothing more. Tank was Tank, an average backup NT. Canty was a good DE, not great, but he got a huge payday and one could argue if he was worth all those dollars or not. Ellis was good, but his attitude and our youth behind him made him expendable. TO was great when he wanted to be, he was double covered often but he was a headcase and his dropped balls won't be missed.

We gained Sensabaugh, Igor, Brooking, and we have youth coming into their own. Sens is a legit SS, he played in Peyton's division and has faced Brady a few times, he's seen the best as far as QB's are concerned. I don't think he'll have a huge gap to cross coming to the NFCE. Igor is equivalent to Canty in a 3-4 defense in my opinion, there may be some drop off but Canty wasn't a superstar. Igor should still command plenty of double teams and that's all you need with Ware behind you. Brooking is a faster/bigger Thomas, except he actually has knowledge of Phillips defense.

Scandrick is better than Pacman and Henry. You might remember his INT against the skins last year. Reports are that Jenkins is looking great and should be the starter opposite Newman. Our secondary is better than last years, if only for the sole reason we have a SS that can play.

I didn't even mention the fact that Felix is back, we know what Choice can do, barber's not injured, and our o-line is healthy.

I'm not really sure why Skins think Dallas just got terrible this offseason, every post I see of a Skins fan asked to explain why we are worse off they scream TO. Great. I can understand if you have a legit argument but us being bad because TO left is ridiculous. Roy had an entire offseason with Romo, i'm willing to bet the dropoff will not be that severe.

What I really want to see is how Portis and Campbell hold up considering their line is terrible. I guess we'll see how he compares to Roethlisberger because he'll be spending a lot of time on his back and scrambling just like big Ben did in 2008. If Campbell and Portis survive the 2009 season against the NFC East without injury I will be surprised.

On that note, good luck. Your defense is beastly, I'll give you that. I'm a UT fan so i'm a little jealous you guys got Orakpo, he should be a player.

I just wanted to re-emphasize that I agree with you on this, for all the NFCE teams. I think all 4 could and should have 5 wins by the 7th game, maybe 8th. and all should have no less than 7-8 wins heading into Dec.

I also think Dallas' season comes down to how well JG utilizes the weapons he has. Your rushing attack SHOULD be one of the top 5, and while I wish injuries on no team, I would be so undisappointed if Felix has lingering toe problems! He is one of those unique game breakers.

I think people will be surprised by the Commanders O-line (including many Skins fans). Before anyone rants, hear me out. Our 1st string Oline played for the first 8 games and we went 6-2, granted we didn't demolish anyone, and I would not say they are great, just adequate. Once we effectively lost Samuels, we started replacing various starters, at one point having a backup center try to block Tuck. God that was a scary moment. Well we did minor upgrades to the starters, replacing an aging Kendall with youth in Dockery. Not necessarily better, but younger and works great with Samuels. BUT, and this is where I think the difference is, we released our aging or underperforming backups (4 of 5 useless backups are gone) and brought in young talent and a proven starter - Jeremy Bridges. I am not claiming they are HOF bound, but simply that the OLine will be more cohesive even if we lose Samuels. Not to mention, and I think every NFC E team says this, we don't go against Baltimore and Pittsburgh in the regular season!

I think this season like last will be a nail-biter, and all 4 teams are going to be battling, and the stretch runs will determine which teams are 9-7 and which are 11-5 or 12-4. There will only be 2 maybe 3 games separating the Division champ and last place.

I am going to the Skins Baltimore Preseason game, and I am syked that football is upon us!

Hey Alice, you're still in Wonderland!! I live here and follow your team and OL closely and they're in BIG TROUBLE. Christina Samuels is old and has knee troubles every year. He virtually plays on 1 leg after the 5th or 6th game every year and that gets worse as he gets older. He can't block a young speedy DWare anymore. Dock is decent but the Bills flatout released him for a reason. Rabach is average at best and he's dealing with a calf injury already. Plus, Ratliff eats his lunch. He's way too strong and quick for Rabach. Randy Thomas may not play much at all, he can't even practice regularly. I heard Bugle say he's extremely concerned that his injury is really serious. Yall don't even have a RT, Heyer your projected starter, he's a fat doughboy. He's terrible! Your backups suck also. You have a 400lb OT who hasn't played in a few years, he's a complete project. Your 3rd rd pick, Rhinehart, can't even get on the field and Bugle basically called him a bust at the end of the 2008 season. Bridges isn't even average. With all the injuries he still can't crack the lineup. Dude, I don't know what you're talking about. Your OL is a complete mess.....

ok, thanks for the clarification.

Can we re-visit this at the end of the season, and if you are right, I will gladly acknowledge it. Hopefully you would do the same.

One other thing, it's quite easy to take the worst case scenario in every item, which is what you have done. And it could turn out you are correct. I am not in Wonderland, I simply said, most people could be surprised by the Skins line. Mainly because most of the media has portrayed it as you have.

I know when I have homer glasses on, and I love wearing them. But, the Oline issue is one where I am just saying that people are so downplaying us due to it, that most will be surprised when its not as damaged as they have been led to believe (Remember Star Trek IV when the Enterprise came around the planet, still damaged, but able to put up a fight)

This isn't true either. You're projected last in most Pro Football Publication because you have no QB, JC is terrible and your frtofc knows it and so does the rest of the league. Remember. yall pimped him all offseason and Denver even choose Kyle Orton over him, Kyle Orton. It doesn't help that JC is throwing to 2 midgets in Moss and El cause you can't get your 2 2nd rd picks in DT and MK on the field AGAIN this year cause they stay hurt as well. JZ just said the other day that its hard to develop any chemistry on O cause everybody is hurt. You're OL is just one of many problems yall have... Just saying dude, tell the entire story. There's a reason the media is picking yall to finish DEAD LAST in the east, AGAIN.

It is what it is, that's why the media has portrayed it that way. Your offense SUCKED last year and your OL is banged up already just a week into camp and they're a year older. Your frtofc gave 100mil contract to a cat who stays hurt and needed a knee injection already just 4 days into camp. Your D was already very good last year. Why not spend that loot on 2 or 3 decent olinemen to protect your already shakey QB. Does that not make sense or what?

Huh!!!

The east alone will provide us with 2-3 losses.

But then there are lots of mutts as opponents throughout the year.

I will go out on a limb and say what my heart says (because my love for the Cowboys) 10-6 and a one and out in the playoffs under the Clown Wade Phillips.
My gray matter (doctors removed quite a bit) says 9-7 and no playoffs under the Clown Wade Phillips.

I do love the way our defensive front is continuing to look, with Ware, Spencer leading the way. That unit (not the secondary) will win a few games that will be close.

I love my Cowboys and await the day that the most glamorous team in the universe with the best stadium in the world will one day have a coach like Shany or Gruden or the Jaw that we can be proud of.
Our talent is top notch, they just don't fear and respect Wade the way players should fear and respect a proper coach.

Hooray beer.

It's a head scratcher alright, seeing that the original Enterprise starship was destroyed near the end of the third film; and that the crew was seen flying around in a Klingon Bird of Prey starship throughout the majority of the fourth installment.

The golden rule of NFL fans resurfaces yet again:

Some Commanders fans know very little about a great many things.

I'm not suprised!!! As for his analogy, I wasn't a Star Trek Fan at all and never watched a show.. He lost me with all of that but you cleared things up for me..Thx!!!

I don't think we wow anybody with a fantastic record this year. I think we make the playoffs with a 10-6 record but are a far better team than last year. Our tough schedule will prepare us to make a run deep into th post season.

With our tough scheldule and coming out of the rugged east at 10-6, is a "wow" in itself...
