The Cowboys will not take Goff

Well I think if you do put the pieces together it may make sense.

Jerry supposedly says we will not take a QB at 4(though he says a backup behind Romo will be at a huge advantage).
Stephen says they won't pass on a QB but even he is getting his excuses lined up for when they do eventually pass on one.

Both probably do not feel Wentz will be available, especially when they made those quotes so maybe they really don't like Goff and want to get the fanbase prepared for when they pass on Goff.

Now with a Kaepernick/Browns trade looking more and more likely...maybe Wentz will fall in our laps.

Has Dallas shown any interest in Goff so far? It seems they have been more interested in Wentz, Lynch and Prescott.

For all we know Goff's people have made it clear he won't go anywhere if he isn't the likely starter this year. It'd be the thing to tell teams if Goff wanted to cement his going to San Fran or LA and Wentz is the guy Cleveland takes. Heck, if I'm the Cowboys I probably make sure this rumor starts right after I make my pick of a non-QB so the narrative in the fan base is they couldn't have gotten him anyway just in case he becomes a Pro Bowl QB.

Think about this
Unless they actually plan to take Goff, there would be no advantage in leaking that.

Either they didn't leak this or they plan to take him.
I say it's the former, but that too is a guess

Or..<dramatic pause>....they plan on taking him and leaked this so that no one would jump their pick (dun dun duuunnn). The end of April can't come soon enough. Until then, the sports writers/analysts are making a killing on clicks based on virtually no true insider information.

If that's teally true I hope he goes on to be Rogers 2.0 and Moss' us for the rest of his career!

Doubtful.....he only won 14 total games in 3 years as a starter. PAC 10 wasn't all that and their non conf sched wasn't all that either.

Unless they are arranging a trade before the draft. They just put up a big for sale sign and are waiting for th shoppers to come to them.
