he likely doesn't however, this is the feeling I am getting as well. I think we'll take Wentz, Garrett will be insufferable to Jerry if he passes on a ginger QB, but I think collectively they are fine passing on Goff (huge mistake imo).

Prepare for Jalen Ramsey in round 1 and Dak Prescott in round 2 after trading down.

Prepare for having to explain the violent storm that hits Valley Ranch in the aftermath of that 1st round pick.

You will deny him two more times before the draft. He told me.

lmao

edit: just so we are clear and I can avoid his wrath, I would not take Ramsey and would take Wentz and if he weren't available Goff.

now excuse me while I do a few hail mary's

Also, think about this

If you think Risen is insufferable now, just image the lengths he'll go to when Wentz is throwing TD passes in the playoffs while we bumble around in our post Romo era.

It's probably the end of my time here. I don't think I'm capable of shutting up about it.

I expect to be blowing smoke out of my ears that Thursday night.

Unless they are arranging a trade before the draft. They just put up a big for sale sign and are waiting for th shoppers to come to them.

This is the most likely.

I think they want a trade out of #4..

its likely some team will trade up and we will select a QB with whatever pick we gain on the trade..

be it a 2nd or 3rd rd pick.

Then we address the QB in a discounted way and still draft a #1 we need on defense.

Plus still keep our 2nd rd pick.

This makes the most sense and falls with the way Dallas likes to move around in the draft.

remember, we don't draft for need! it's been stated here time and again. So with that in mind, I think we go QB.

Oh..

I like that thinking.

You must have been a long-time fan to see that.

I must admit in 2014 no way I saw Martin being taken..

was sure we were going DL.

And last year..

no way DB thinking RB clearly after Murray left.

So now you maybe right.

I think things have fallen well for us to draft a QB at 4 and easily be able to afford to pay a QB to sit if needed for 2+ years.

We have the best cap in years and can redo contracts if required.

When we say Romo is the key..I understand the reasoning..

but after what we have seen when Romo goes down..

the entire team and all the investment in the OL, Dez and now the defense we are about to add to in a big way..

are Null and Void.

Do you really take a chance on Romo not living up to the projections the team wants for him?

I don't think you do.

I think if you don't want a risk like a Manziel as backup or have the staff to adapt to an RG3 style running QB..

then you have to take the best option at QB and try to doubledown on the failure of 2015 and get your future Franchise guy.

Then finish rebuilding the roster and win with Romo or without him.

Chip Kelly could have his choice of Wentz and Goff, if that happens the other likely falls past 10 where the risk of BUST is a little or somewhat more forgiving. ... kinda.

I think the only thing that can save us from our ineptitude, is the extreme ineptitude of the Cleveland Browns. Trading a 3rd round for Kaepernick likely ensures Wentz will be there at #4, and Garrett will not pass on him...hell hath no fury like a ginger scorned

I don't believe this for a second. There's absolutely no way he could know this.

With that said, I don't think we take Goff. Or Wentz.

I can only hope for one of two things:

1) That this is a carefully constructed ruse to prevent another team from trading up past our #4 selection for a quarterback

Or

2) That once again, as in the past, Mel Kiper doesn't have a clue about anything the Cowboys are doing in the draft

I think we need to pick Wentz or Goff. If we don't than there is no point in picking a qb later on. We need to pray that Romo stays healthy or draft Tunsil ( if he is there ) to keep Romo healthy. We have no backup qb.
