If that's teally true I hope he goes on to be Rogers 2.0 and Moss' us for the rest of his career!

That's the spirit!

And I am sure that if Goff turns out to be another Qb bust, you will surely give JJ and the front office credit and admit your ignorance. Yeah, right. I'm guessing it is a one-way street with you.

Reminds me of all those 'fans' who ripped JJ on draft day for passing on DL Sharif Floyd and trading down and picking the best player in the draft, Fredbeard. The best thanks those clowns can come up with is that JJ could have had Fredbeard in the 2nd or third round (according to some armchair basement scout) instead of praising JJ for the great trade down and choice.

Wonderful plan. Let the Browns draft Wentz, let him play there for a few years and get released because the Browns are well.. The Browns. Meanwhile we pick up Ramsey/Jack/Zeke and build a team for when Wentz arrives.

There may not be a QB off the board by our pick, that says everything you need to know. Jack/Ramsey may be gone, Z Elliot come one down your best contestant on keep the QB upright.

Unless they are arranging a trade before the draft. They just put up a big for sale sign and are waiting for th shoppers to come to them.

I hear you. But they would tell the GMs directly if they wanted them to know the 4th pick is for sale. Just pick up the phone or email all 31 GM at once...either way

Certainly not thru Kiper via a 3rd party

I do think the pick is potentially available

Kiper might not know but I suspect this is true. I even have doubts we'd take Wentz if he fell to 4.

Always felt Jerry and especially coaches don't want a top 5 QB who will have to sit for a couple of years over a player they think can start right away. Will continue to try to win with what is left of Romo's window, even though Romo in his prime only won 2 wildcard games. But no doubt Bosa or Buckner or Jack will put us over the top.

If we pass on QB I just hope we don't take a lower tier QB on day 2 with as much talent as there is elsewhere. Top of 4th is as early as I'd take a developmental/backup QB.

I always hope we somehow find a potential starter next year rather than wait til Romo is done and then panic and scramble like we did when Aikman left.

Ahh, but you sacrifice bargaining power if you seek out them. If they initiate, you have an advantage.

Not that Kiper is a part of their inner circle. His hair tells me he doesn't know a damn thing.

My point is why leak that out if true. If he sucks he sucks, but don't discount anybody this soon in the process.

Am I a bad Cowboy fan for wanting one of these guys to be great so I can talk trash about the team for passing?

There is no way Mel Kiper could know this.

he likely doesn't however, this is the feeling I am getting as well. I think we'll take Wentz, Garrett will be insufferable to Jerry if he passes on a ginger QB, but I think collectively they are fine passing on Goff (huge mistake imo).

Prepare for Jalen Ramsey in round 1 and Dak Prescott in round 2 after trading down.

Nope. It's called Rueing. We've all done it. Had we picked Martin if Donald was there we would (even though Martin is fantastic), same with Tyron and Watt. Ellis Moss? Not even close.

My whole point is we shouldn't be discounting anybody. Let's say we take Bosa, and Wentz and Goff are there, Bosa is good for 10 years. But Goff or Wentz, or both are great QB's and in 2 years Romo hangs them up? Are you not going to rue? Or complain about what were we thinking, etc? It's our right as fans to do do/say whatever the hell we want to!

That quick wentz video was beyond pathetic...all of the attributes they discuss..they compliment w a video and the video shows nothing close to what the guy is describing

Doesn't matter. Rogers got killed in his final game by a QB named Sonny Cumby. Who's the best QB now?

one game............Goff won a total of 14 over his entire stint starting at Cal...........not even 4.65 +/- per year......23 fumbles of his own didn't help the cause...

Well Greg Ellis was a good player for us but he was no Randy Moss.

Doubtful.....he only won 14 total games in 3 years as a starter. PAC 10 wasn't all that and their non conf sched wasn't all that either.

Im told by people in this forum the bowl game vs ** solidified his stock as the best QB in this draft lol

I'd be all for repeating the trade down philosophy if we bypass the QBs. Probably get someone of similar talent to who we could get at 4 while netting an additional day 2 pick or two. If somehow we could trade with SF to #7, I guarantee one of the guys we're targeting at 4 (Bosa, Jack or Buckner) will be there for us.
