Every time I read the title of this thread, I can't get the curious case of Benjamin button (hook) out of my mind

So instead of Garrett getting younger every year, he keeps getting worse and worse as HC? ;)

RKGs have always been smart players who football is important to. JG has said that many times. I have no idea why people think it means boy scouts.

To me, Garrett is a head coach who should be a GM. I think Jerry sees Garrett as a sort of hybrid, an all-purpose middleman between him and the team.

And how many times do I have to tell you and other posters that throwing a temper tantrum like a little child is not going to change a damn thing? The team is going to be ran just like the Jones family runs it, like it or not.

I don't like some things that Jerry does, some things I do like, but guess what? I am not obsessed or miserable like you and some posters...you know why? Because there is not a damn thing I can do about it!

But, it is fun to come here and read posters such as yourself crying about this and that when there is not a damn thing youz guys can do about it! But, carry on with your bad selves. You misery makes me actually put some perspective in my own life. lol

And yet no one is throwing a temper tantrum at all. No one is crying.

You insult people with your condescension.

What amazes me is you ask me a pointed question. Then posted to times suggesting I was dodging your post. I replied ion a thoughtful way encompassing my thoughts about why I love this team. I asked you a question and still have no answer.

Nor do I have any kind of apology for you making claims I was avoiding your post.

You are combative and a name caller and the epitome of the side that wants everyone to agree with you are suffer your wrath.

Maybe what you need to do is stop crying and whining and grown the frick up.

yes, except I am waiting for that time where he is in his prime....button started off old and slow and then regressed (in age at least)....we can't afford coaching regression

That is hilarious. Someone else's misery, on a discussion board, helped you. What would you do for perspective if you didn't peruse the boards as often as you do.

Psychology 101 - getting enjoyment or perspective about someone else's misery or bad times means that you yourself need work.

There is no shame in that. We all need work.

why wasn't Deion Sanders RKG? Irvin? these guys loved football and practiced hard and played harder. Charles haley was a bit lazy for practice, but when you had a team of RKGs, you could absorb talented players that had head problems. Erik Williams was nasty and great football player who at times got into scuffles with team maters in practice.

does in your mind RKG mean quire boy? RKG is guys who love football. can't control what folks do in their off hours and there will always be idiots out there. but players like davis or barber, who when told follow team rules wore jeans and had ties that were tied 4 inches to poke fun. few others like them that thought they are entitled. no more of that crap.

RKG is guys who love football, dedicated to football. work hard and play hard....and you give everybody the same advice...stay out of trouble for your own sake.

First I'd like to say- that I love posts like this. It's an interesting psychology quiz for a prospective Dallas Cowboy.

I believe the issue in Dallas isn't the Coach's "program" or the Player's "buy in" it's somewhere in between, and affected by all kinds of variables you can't put your finger on.

For instance- Dez Bryant is a player with 100% on the field accountability. And would answer A) to question 1 and B) to question 2. But he's a young player who sees the game from both a fan, AND player's perspective and IMO - and I have no proof- takes results personally- as well as the yapping of opposing corners, fans, rappers in night clubs- he's a Cowboy and his job is to defend his brethren and mentors.

But don't you think other players see Dez's reactions- ranting, walking off the field as time expires... see this from an outside perspective and say "man- that situation- with that QB, that Coach, that Owner..., as much as it might have been a lifelong dream to be a Dallas Cowboy I think maybe I should look elsewhere to play football."

As hard as it is to be a fan of the Cowboys- it must be worse to be a player involved in some of the most magnificent failures in the history of team sports.

I've always agreed with Jason's RKG approach to talent acquistion. I just don't think he's the guy to get the correct players to play like champions if he had them. I just don't think the man carries weight enough for locker-room talent to take him seriously. I've never heard any of Garrett's players say anything good about him after leaving Dallas- yet on the other hand, perhaps it was time for those players to go anyway and that's the kind of comfort those players had leaving their less-than-best on the football field.

My point is, it's going to take a guy that wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy for whatever reason- to be a Dallas Cowboy today. I think the rest will look elsewhere for a Coach or situation that helped mold them into a viable free-agent to begin with.

This RKG model really has shown little in the way of tangible success. Sure the roster "looks" made over but beyond that? It could even be argued that many of the problems that plagued Dallas under Phillips has still not been solved, even though draft choices have been made and FA's acquired. Spurning talent for a docile demeanor gets you a country club team in my opinion. Anyone who witnessed the halcyon days of the nineties knows full well that Dallas had its share of controversy, discontent and outright debauchery at times. The difference was that it had a real hard### at the head coaching position that would as soon cut a player as pat one on the back.
