I don’t care if they had Antonio Brown, Julio, and A.J. green, Garrett would find a way to make them nonexistent.

This right here is the problem imo. Whatsmore is that there were 2 delay of game penalties that are on the centre and the coach. I saw Dak demanding the ball on both of those, but the centre never snapped the ball. Particularly on the second one, Garrett HAS to call time out there to preserve those five critical yards.

I disagree a bit. Dak is not comfortable in the pocket and never has been; he gets jittery and panicked too easily. He’s also not a timing passer that throws his receivers open on mid to deeper routes. Think about where we see him make most of his completions, in the middle of the field 8-10 yards out. If your running game is cranking you can offset some his shortcomings because you keep the down and distance manageable, but when you need to move the ball in chunks he’s a mess.

How many wasted possessions have we witnessed with Dak throwing a wormburner into the turf? Or airmailing a pass? Further, how about hidden yardage we failed to gain because he's thrown behind a receiver or didn't hit them in stride to allow them opportunity for YAC?
I said this all off season and I have been called a Dak hater, Dez lover etc. Anything to deflect the blame that Dak needs a lot more time to get polished, I think romo saw that and retired, same with Witten. Dez is different bag but I think with his warts at least gave Dak shot on a lot of his deep passes. I think Scott is angling for the HC job and sabotaging Garrett who is good motivator but is overall a mediocre head coach.

Let’s be real, Dak doesn’t “suck”. He led the team to a 13-3 record his rookie year and played well last year until T.Smith went down.

But something is off. He certainly “sucked” today. His mechanics were off. He missed wide open receivers. He held the ball too long.

I’m willing to write this game off as an anomaly considering the pressure he was under the entire game. If there’s a repeat performance next week, it’ll be time to start getting worried.
We heard this every week for the last 8 games last year.

There’s tons of other QBs who can move the ball with pressure.

Eli wasn’t great by any stretch but he at least got the ball out down the field and he has Chaz Green Jr at RT with Flowers.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is not some world beater but he threw it up and gave his guys a chance and put 48 points up on a defense that all they do is blitz.

Dak plays 90s football where you just play it safe. That’s not how the NFL is these days. You need playmakers willing to take chances.

I do...It's called a fire sale. Stock pile draft picks. Fire Garrett...go young @ head coach.

I agree. I've been PLEADING for a proper WCO coach who can use Dak properly. Yet again, Dak was being forced to use an offence that doesn't suit him. He's NOT a run and gun chap. He's a WCO-style QB. That style of QB used today on those play calls were not WCO. Thus, the coaching is still useless.

Nah Dak sucks. It will take some longer than others to see this I see. By the end of the season unless something drastic happens most will be on board and stop bringing up that fluke season. Funny thing is if he played on a NFCE team everybody would be saying he stinks but now some want to hype this Nick Foles type fools gold QB up. At least Foles fools gold got him a ring and MVP from it.

Dak didn't play very well today. Had some open WR's and just threw terrible balls either too high or into the ground.

It has me concerned. It's week one, but I didn't like what I saw.

Yes, and, while I expected better, let's face it, the receivers (except Cole) are new chaps, and it takes time to get in gear. The offence started to come around in the second half, so maybe that's the spark we need. We shall see if that's the case as the season wears on, or if it was just the Panthers defence wearing out.

Dak sucked today but so did Romo against the same defense in 2015 and Romo had the better Oline, Dez and Witt in that game.

That should tell you it's not just the QB but more the issue with the scheme.

He was bad, but it doesn’t help when we are going empty set for nearly three quarters.

We’ve seen this before. 2013-prior. Refusal to establish a run game.

Woeful coaching. I’m beside myself at all the empty sets

@gimmesix

5) Abandon run game until it is too late

I absolutely despise the empty set when we have Zeke. In fact, on one of the drives, we actually had something going. Dak was completing passes, and Zeke had a nice run. Then our morons with the headsets decide that going empty set would be a jolly good way to move the ball about at that point instead of attacking what was working which killed the drive.

Dakota Prescott's last 4 games dating back to week 15 last year:

18/27 202 yds 2 INT
21/34 181 yds 2 INT
17/30 179 yds 1 TD
19/29 170 yds

Keep living off of 2016, ya sound like RG3 stans living out his 2012 glory days. The jig is up. That bs from Dak last year is what got Dez cut. But his play this year is whats going to get Garrett the axe, and Im here for it.

A lot of QBs have had flash in the pan seasons early in their careers to go on to be journeyman in this league. RG3, Aaron Brooks, Daunte Culpepper, Tebow, tyrod Taylor, Vinny Testeverde, Trent Dilfer, Kordell Stewart, Jon Kitna, David Gerrard, Byron Leftwich, etc

They looked like they had not played. It should get better over the next few games.

That is what I expect as well. I expect them to be on the same page in a few weeks time. If not, then I'll probably hop on this wagon if it still looks dreadful, but, even then, I'd still be pointing the paw largely at Garrett.

As much as I hate to say this, I prefer Garrett over Linehan as HC. Linehan needs to go FAST. He sucks. Garrett sucks too.

The Panthers had a much better defense back in 2015, Romo was still hurt and was playing a second game in 5 days, and he had McFadden at RB who couldn't even get snaps last year when Zeke was suspended.

Comparing a healthy QB to a guy with a broken collar bone playing his second game of football in 5 days doesn't make me feel better.

Dak needs to take some shots down field. His fear of throwing a pick is hurting him. Coaches need to threaten to bench his arse if he doesn't get it done. Plus need to feed Zeke more.

This is why I want us to sign Lynch. We don't have any valid backups to make that threat have any teeth. Paxton Lynch might give it some teeth. Probably baby teeth, but teeth nonetheless.

He was cleared to play. His collar bone wasn’t broken and shouldn’t have had any impact on his ability to play well. He was just in danger of reinjuring, which he ultimately did. Him playing like crap wasn’t the result of his shoulder though. He just played like crap.

No to Cooper Rush.

But I don’t want them to force Mike White in either. Let him develop.

Agreed, and that's where I think Lynch can come in. Is he a moron? Probably. But, maybe, just maaayybe, he could be a good stop gap to compete against Dak.
