Definitely looks that way on paper.

But at the same time...Tony Romo going down and a 4th rounder Dak being the starting QB last year right after the injury did not look good on paper either.
Nor did the idea that a 6th string rookie DB would make any impact at all but Brown did.

Could surprise us some. Maybe not.

It will be a test. That is sure.

I imagine this young group will have some growing pains but I am hoping to see enough from this young group (not counting Oscan and Carroll) to hope they have a decent future with the Cowboys with some time.

Agreed and to all we usually get a surprise or two from the lower draft picks and/or UDFAs. And we could always pick up a VFA.

Scandrick isn't the same
Scandrick gets a pass, from me, after coming back from an injury. ACL and MCL ripped apart and he still tried to cover the quickest receivers in the league as a slot db. He should be fine this season. I don't understand fans wanting to trash good talent, like Scandrick/ Dez, coming off injuries or down yrs and thinking Joe Schmo will be just as good. Look at Philly who arguably had the most talent in the division and now they are garbage after showing their most talented players the door.

I will give you a pass since it seems you are some what new and may not know me.......I'm one of the more positive fans on this forum. Some call me a blind homer or that I wear rose colored glasses, some even say I drink the kool-aid......not the purple kind.

All in all I don't trash players and wish any gone. I cheer blindly even for the scout team players and I try to hype at least 1 player every day. That being said I said Scandrick would be on his way out due mostly to age and the potential of the young guys. Scandrick isn't the same player, could that change.....well yes it sure can but ago 30 isn't too kind for athletes. I wish him well but we are looking to the future, building a dynasty. These young guys aren't going the status quo, they are hungry and want to win and ready to fight for it

my worry about Brown is that he might become Mario Edwards part deux
Brown played better than Edwards did in his rookie year though. Then again he wasn't forced to start as much. Brown needs to clean some things up before I feel comfortable. He does get a little grabby. Hopefully that does not get seized upon by the officials and he gets targeted. That happened to Edwards the longer he played.

The grabby issue is hard for rookie CBs because they have much more freedom in college to play that way.

Brown has the speed to not be dependent on it once he starts to see the game like a veteran.

Mario Edwards was a limited athlete.

I'm not asking for a pass from anyone. Reading your comment it sounds like you want Scandrick out in flavor of players without a snap to their name and a free agent vet that the Eagles don't want in their below average secondary.

You can't show me anywhere that I said I want Scandrick out. Maybe you shouldn't assume
