Why do you think he interviewed for those head coaching positions? It was to drive the price with Jerry up. He is not going anywhere, he has a sweet gig here and knows Jerry will even give him more next year!!

I would take Quinn over McC; however, the team has to perform poorly enough for McC to be fired or Quinn has to be OK with him being fired in order to keep him on as HC. I am not sure he would be OK with that.

No one knows what is in his heart because he has just about erased the being fired as a HC with his success as a DC and the job I think he really wants, Seattle, may not open up this off season. We also do not know about the relationship between McC and Quinn but Quinn has spoken highly of McC several times.

There is an unwritten rule in coaching, they do not interview for jobs while there is a HC employed. Cowher mentioned that and several echoed it. I wonder how that applies to this situation if Booger is faced with losing Quinn if he doesn't give him the HC job and would Quinn even go for that?

Yes I have mentioned this before. I don’t think Quinn’s going to take the HC job here in Dallas if it looks like he’s usurping MM. First, MM would have to be fired for tangible cause. The way things are going right now, MM has not reached that point.

Look for Quinn to be interviewed for the Denver job (Hackett will probably get fired this season) and Carolina job this off-season (and others depending on what happens with other teams).

Yes - been done numerous times:
Belichick from Jets to Patriots
Parcells from Patriots to Jets
Herm Edwards from Jets to Chiefs
Mike Holmgren from Packers to Seahawks

Here's the bottom line. Quinn *is* going to get a nice offer to be HC elsewhere and the only way to prevent that is to make him a HC here. If we miss the playoffs or go one-and-out I make that happen if I'm Jerry. If not, he's gone sooner than later.
