The debate continues: Is it the coordinator or the players on defense?

It's the players. Flus can only do so much with the hand he is dealt.

Hopefully next summer we will see a big influx of talent added to the defense to make a difference.

I wonder how the Jets game plan screens. They should do screens and quick ins to RBs and TEs all day. Our LBs are clueless

why can't it be both? when you are this bad, its all of the above and this defense to this point of the season is historically bad. its even worse than the defense back in 2020 which was a sieve with one big hole in the middle

When you look at the investment in the offense over the defense, it’s no surprise that we have a great offense and a pathetic defense.

So, I tend to believe that it’s *primarily* a talent issue, but it’s the DCs job to figure out what he has and adjust to minimize the impact of a roster filled with JAGs.

To be honest, that may not even be possible with the talent and injury issues

From last year we are down Micah, Tank and Gholston, all three of whom could really help us this year.

While draft picks may look pretty equitable, the money isn’t.

What I can blame him for is playing corners 7 yards off the receivers on 3rd and 2

What I can blame him for is coverage busts. Why dont your players know who they are supposed to be covering?

Penalties and boneheaded plays isn't anything new. We were doing it all thru McCarthy, but most egregiously the 2021 San Francisco game.

It could be the coordinator.... but these are the same players responsible for some of the McCarthy defenses. Or they're the inheritors.... however you call it.

Something tells me these players just get together after every tie or win and throw a $300,000 party and they're busy celebrating instead of worrying about the next game. They just don't look like they play together... they're the antithesis of the 49ers or the Chiefs. They can't get some simple stuff figured out.

PLAYERS!!!!!!!!! I watched play after play of LOUSY tackling, it's flat out horrible! The secondary has no speed to stay with the players they're guarding against; I hope over the next couple of seasons some of these bums get cut or released, because they don't belong as starters in this league.

jourdan lewis jerry and stevie didnt want to pay him so he went to jags, and had a int last week.
So we had a decent corner and let him walk.
There is another one forget his name, but he is playing for the ravens now.
JOnes boys just dont want to pay defensive players. So we wind up with low wage jags.

And I dont care about talent, eberflus is just not a good DC or coach.
They should have grabbed saleh when he left the jets, I would prefer a fiery animated DC,and one who changes schemes if it isnt working. I hate the bend dont break crap, as it makes players be less intense. Let the guys just catch the pass then tackle him ! It is too easy to move the ball downfield doing that.

It’s both. But firing him mid season won’t fix anything.

So I don’t see the rush to axe him.

Get a better coordinator this offseason and the draft and FA better be heavy on defense.

we need a fiery and demanding DC. someone who likes to use man and blitzes.

Well, here's the deal. Our D players are so devoid of talent, it's actually impossible to truly evaluate Eber. We will not know if it's both until there is a huge infusion of talent on D.

Many of the players suck, but I know that some of them don’t suck as bad as they have been under Eberflus.

Some coaches get the best out of their players and Eberflus is not.

Green Bay RB's must have felt like they were doing gauntlet drills; running through the hands and arms, of the defense. It was terrible!

FRONT OFFICE. Isn't the GM responsible for finding the necessary players? Doesn't the GM build each side of the ball?

Only if the team owner holds him accountable for doing so.
