The defense was terrible thread

They were marching down the field on the defense, but ultimately, the D held and gave the O an opportunity to win at the end of the game before overtime and held the Commanders to 3 in OT. This was on Garrett for allowing Romo to force himself in the game again. We were marching down the field with ease with Weeden. As a coach, you have to make decisions for the best of the team.

Don't you think your QB heading to the locker room for a couple of drive would slow down the "eliteness"?

Not sure what your point is. The two possession he missed we scored 10 points out 17 total. The elite offense with the starting QB only scored 7 points.

No, we were actually better tonight with Weeden on the field.

Yeah but what's ironic is the offense moved the ball easier on Weeden's 2 drives than at any other point of the game.

With about 20 of those completions short passes.

So? We have short passes as well.

He threw great on long balls and had at least two drops.

If someone completes 85 percent against you you are doing something terribly wrong.

OK, I don't have a problem with what you say in any other thread. However, you are stubbornly sticking to this tired rhetoric - when you know it's not true. The defense could not stop or get off the field. It was piss pour and you know it ! Offense was not great, but the defense sucked *** tonight - no way around it.

If you told me our defense will only give up 17pts when our offense turns the ball over twice, I'll take it every time. Not to mention special teams giving up a 37yd punt return.

Defense wasn't great, but the offense did nothing to protect them. This loss has more to do with the offense's inability to score or make adjustments than the defense to stop them.

Dallas scored 10 quick points when the QB was in the locker room.

Lets be real- the first drive was one hand off to Murray- thats it

I couldve done that. That drive should not be used in the conversation about how effective weeden was.

It's like they panic so quickly when the 2nd and 2 run was right there for the taking. Just stick to your winning formula, Murray.

Yeah just keep giving the ball to Murray, you have 4 downs to get 10 yards each time, do that and what do you get? A touchdown and a win. :yourock:

Yeah, Romo didnt look sharp coming back on but its not like the asked Weeden to do that much, anybody could have hit Witten for that TD and complete on the first dive for the FG he didnt complete a pass, settle down people.

My post had nothing to do with whether Weeden was good or not. My post said, defense is not be blamed for this loss since they only allowed 17 points in regulation. It was on offense.

So what is your point?

Actually the Defense kept us in this game. It was the fumbles and chaos that blew it for us. Then the defense folded like any other defense would.

The defense wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good enough.

We let Washington convert 7 of 11 third/fourth downs in the second half and OT, while our offense went 1 for 6 over the same span (after failing on our last third down before halftime).

The biggest key to our offense this season hasn't been the running game or Romo's overall play, it has been our ability to convert third downs at an amazing rate, no matter how far we had to go. Tonight, we couldn't do that -- and Washington did.

When the skins went for it on 4th and 1, I have a feeling every single fan KNEW they were gonna go play action and hit a wide open receiver in the flat.

OK let me spell it out for you, the offense cant be expected to perform at an "elite" level when your QB goes off injured.

As I said, the time Romo went out we scored more points than when our starting QB was in.
Two possession with the backup QB scored 10 points. Rest of the possessions with the starting QB scored 7 points. This offense wasn't elite when Romo was in the game.

So once again, what the heck are you talking about?

Are you playing up your ignorance to miss the point? How can any offense be called elite while using their back up QB? Do you want me to take out my box of crayons and draw you a picture to break it down? I cant make this any easier for you...

What did Weedon do on that first drive? two incomplete passes.
