The difference between Dak & Rush was on CeeDee TD catch

When they showed the play from the pocket you see Rush throw the ball right before CeeDee makes his last cut. Before he was open and there was separation. Actually threw the ball the direction CeeDee was not running yet.

Dak would have held the ball a little longer and threw the ball after the last cut when you could see CeeDee open.

Both would have been a TD cause he was so open but in different situations that timing makes all the difference

Romo was showing replays against Bengals where Rush would throw the ball before the cuts to where the receiver will end up. Its actually pretty impressive with the little amount of playing time. He would only get better with more experience. Dak is at his celling. He isnt getting better. And thats not a cut on Dak because he is pretty good and has more arm strength than Rush. But if Dak isnt doing this by now he never will. Remember 3 or 4 years ago it was about getting Dak friendly players. He needs to see the separation.

Actually you’re wrong. Prescott has thrown the ball and CeeDee Lamb went the wrong direction. More than once.

Dak does make some good throws...occasionally...but does not have good anticipation and often holds the ball too long. He is definitely a "ill throw it when you turn around and are open" type of Qb. He isnt putting a foot out in front, ala Montana, so they can run with it or throwing it to a spot before they break ala Aikman.

Yes, he has but how is Dak's timing? My biggest critique of Dak is ball position. His receivers work harder, at times, to catch balls from Dak. There have been quite a few very good plays both by Dak and the receiver but had Dak's timing and placement been just a bit better, the receiver gets more yards or walks in for a TD.

Now before you all get nuts on me, I think Dak is fine but this is one of those things that keep him from being elite. Dak is a solid QB but not elite.

I cannot imagine anyone but the biggest Homer thinking Dak is elite ...... My point is I do not think Rush is a better passer than Dak throughout Daks career, maybe since his injury at the Pats last year....... Rush's biggest asset to me is that he never gets rattled ..... He just calmly surveys the field. That could possibly be because he is not under any real pressure yet because he knows Dak is the starter, but the kid is a real Fonzie on the field.

If by crucified you mean all factors were considered when evaluating a performance, then yes that is what I do.

I never said it was unfair to bring them up for Rush just not to act like it has only happened to him.

As a side note, if many of you would do something other than make excuses for bad plays or pretend they don't exist, you might be able to separate your personal admiration for a player from a realistic view of their performance.

Not really. By NFL starting QB standards a very small % of his passes would be considered on the upper end of that scale. Far too high a % have been on the lower end of that scale. Everyone in the NFL throws some really good passes and some clunkers. But a top level QB throws a higher % toward the top of the scale & a very small % at the bottom.

He just doesn't do anything well enough, consistently enough. That is the net summary of his career.

Half a second and two feet further in front would make a huge difference on quite a few of his throws.
