The Vikes didn't have to restructure in order to keep Peterson. I don't see how their words were empty when Peterson reported to them weeks ago before this restructure went through.

It was all about AD's perception. MINN didn't HAVE TO guarantee his deal but it sure made Peterson happy. The Vikes could have still cut him Sept 9th if a few protesters made a stink. Now they can't without eating 13m. It was tense for awhile between the 2 parties and it seems like a truckload of cash smoothed everything out.

I don't agree, money was brought up from the get go and later from Peterson himself. In a dream situation sure coming to Dallas making big money would likely be something he would really want but what Minn is paying him and have paid him all I can say is they have done right by him.
