The Eagles win over the Panthers is HUGE for Dallas

We're going to take care of business against NO. That alone will vault is in a real run at the 2 spot.

Seattle has a cake schedule, and I personally would like to thank Shanahan for being a moron and putting Cutler in.

I disagree, now it is an open field of crap, otherwise the Panthers who are talented enigmas would be a shoe in. I welcome Philly and San Fran to the playoff mix, easy pickens.

Yea, we'll see about that.

No, we won't. Cuz your sorry arse team ain't gonna make the playoffs, Joey.

Well, I do agree that IT WOULD SEEM like this loss is better for keeping Carolina off of our backs, BUT 2 things: #1 - This COULD give confidence to the eaGALS and propel them to win 2 or 3 games and get them into the playoffs, which would SUCK; #2 - I HATE THE Mo'Fo' eaGALS and ALWAYS want to see them lose!

In the end I do think that Carolina is a better team than the eaGALS and IF we had to play one of these teams in the 1st round, I'd rather it be the eaGALS... it does hurt that they know us A LOT better than the Panthers do AND that they are a hated division rival, so it kind of evens out.

Either way, we, the COWBOYS, must win out the rest of our 4 regular seaon games, get the 1st round BYE, and then win 3 games (or 4 IF we have to play in the 1st round) in a row in the postseason to end the 2006-07 season with a Super Bowl victory in Miami... that is what REALLY matters!

GO COWBOYS!!!

And you know this, how?

I also predict an Eagles win come Dec. 25

The Eagles will be in the playoffs. Just wait and see.

It's called an opinion, Tony.

Or an educated guess. You barely beat a struggling Carolina team AT HOME, and you think you'll beat the cowboys ON THE ROAD?

You eagles fans aren't blessed with an over abundance of intelligence, that's for sure.

Don't give me that, a win is a win.

....and what's so hard about the Eagles trying to win in Dallas?

Texas stadium is a joke. Crowd noise is one thing the Eagles don't have to worry about.

Bring on Romo.....and TO.

The real joke is the idea of Philly making the playoffs. The McNabb era is over and like every other Philly team it garnered no championships.

Silly little kiddo... *sigh*

There's nothing hard about the eagles "Trying" to win in Dallas. But actually doing so? Not gonna happen. And it has nothing to do with crowd noise. The cowboys are the far superior team. Especially with no McFlabb in the picture.

Bring on Romo? Careful what you ask for, Chico.

I would have the Panthers wins.
Then the Giants beat them this week.
Knock Philly out.

No, it's not huge. These teams are fighting for wildcard spots and Dallas is gunning for a bye week. Whether Carolina or Philadelphia makes the playoffs is of no consequence. After the win on Sunday, The Cowboys have now graduated to the point where we should be scoreboard watching on the Bears, Saints and Seahawks to see if we can move up from the fourth seed to the second or first.

How frustrating was this weekend? The Bears should NOT BE 10-2 with Rex Grossman at QB, no matter what Lovie Smith says. That is like the Ravens saying they won the super bowl with Dilfer at QB, when what they should say is that they didn't lose the super bowl with Dilfer at QB. That D can't bail out Grossman every week. And watching Denver let Seattle hang around to kick a game winning field goal. Those two games should have gone the other way. Thanks Brad Johnson, thanks Jay Cutler.

I know "any given Sunday" applies, but to be so confident about the Eagles beating Dallas - the hottest team in the league right now - at home (barring any significant injury) to trash talk on a Cowboys forum, is just not very smart.

Bring on Romo.....and TO.

Be careful what you wish for.

I really do hope that they get in, though chances are slim. If they can sneak in as the 6th seed and we are the 3rd, it's just as good as a bye. Plus it would give me the pleasure of listening to WIP and hearing all the crying. Priceless. :D

Well, if you're looking for a RAH-RAH thread you've come to the wrong one. This one is about playoff strategy and positioning, not silver-and-blue cool-aid. Sorry!

I know for sure he hates Koolaid. ;) He's a Brandy man. :D

Would have loved to see Carolina win. Would love to see them win next week vs the Giants too.

I fear division rivals more than any other team in the NFC period. It is just like the classic rival matchups in college football, any Sunday, the rivalry takes shape and the talent seems to not make near as much of a difference.

Don't fear Carolina as much as Philly, Westbrook is harder to defens than S Smith and Phillys defense brings more pressure than Carolinas.

BY the way, that WAS interference in the endzone, the CB was pushing while the ball was in the air - no doubt!

I agree. Anything that can knock the Giants out. The Giants are the biggest threat.

The fact of the matter is that we still have to play the Eagles at home and I think we're going to beat them handily. So it's to our benefit that they won this game because from Dallas' point of view, at this point in the season, it's good if the lesser conference teams (ala the Eagles) bring down oppsing teams that are better than them (ala the Panthers), because the Panthers are a bigger threat to Dallas' offseason positioning than the Eagles. So this outcome is HUGE for Dallas. How do you figure that?

How do you figure that? It helps the Giants get closer to the playoffs. And right about now, Dallas is going to be matched up with NY in the first round. I'd much rather play the Panthers in the playoffs because they are a soft team.

And you'll see that this week when the Giants throttle them.

I don't think you can really compare the Dilfer and Grossman situations. Dilfer played a tougher schedule in his SB year. He wasn't that effective, but he took care of the football. He was a slightly below average quarterback. Grossman is one of the worst quarterbacks I have ever seen. I can't believe he hasn't been benched. How do you throw 3 interceptions against the 31st ranked defense in a game where you are not playing from behind.
