Tell me about it! We've always had a good amount of bears in Sussex County but since our Governor banned the bear hunt it has gotten completely ridiculous up here!
I grew up in West Milford, Passaic County. When I was a kid (mid to late 70's), my friends and I would hike a few miles up into the mountains and camp out with just sleeping bags. We'd never even heard about bears being around then. 15 years later, I heard there were an estimated 1100 bears in that 88 square mile town. I guess we got lucky.

But here's the thing. Sometimes there's enough circumstantial evidence to know something happened, or that something can happen, without it ever happening. Like when a deer runs across the highway and doesn't get hit by a vehicle. I don't need to ever see one get hit to know many of them do.
The one that you see is not the one you need to worry about it's the next one that is following.

Anyway good point.

Most people are stupid. Most have to actually see something happen before they know it can happen.
This guy thinks he's Nostradamus.

HE thought...."knew"... zeke was worthless and toast. Done. Worse than worthless.

But now that he "sees" zeke is playing pretty well...and hurdling again....he's changed his tune a little bit. Even allotting him a prestigious 10 carries a game.

Lecturing us about being stupid? It never ends with this guy...a constant barrage of attacks and insults. His next post personally attacking and insulting USArmyVet.

It was closer than many people thought it would be…..if a couple more of y’all showed up, knowing there was actually a good chance of pulling it off, you’d be dehydrating Bear jerky this winter

LOL, so many of them get hit here you don't have to hunt them to keep their population down.

Before I transferred back to tolls, I worked road maintenance for 5 years. In October and November, we'd drag off around a dozen a night. Just in one shift, and just in one section of the roadway. There has to be between 100-200 getting hit a night every day in those two months.

I know lol. My sister lives in far west jersey and they are loaded with them. Maybe not enough hunters up there anymore. Last I knew of, they wouldn’t let you use riffles to kill deer in jersey so unless one is into Bow, shotgun or muzzleloader it’s not happening. Crazy antiquated law on that.

yes…..I had to spell it riffles so the algorithm wouldn’t stop the big bad word

If you look at the tape from last game, Gallup was the WR who was open the most. So all this talk about how we need a new WR because Gallup didn't score points for the fantasy football nerds last week is silly.

We've got enough WRs, especially if James Washington is coming back, or Fehoko, and if the rumor about Kevante Turpin getting more opportunities is true.
Gallup and Lamb are dishrags. If a defender tries to make a play on the ball they don't protect it. They seem to think it's enough to catch the ball if it comes to them- but they don't even do that all the time.
Most people can catch the ball if it's thrown to them.
But they don't shield the pass if a defender tries to make a play on it. The defenders swat them out of the way and continue on.
They aren't true possession receivers.
Yes, the Cowboys need two.

Jerry was the one leading the charge saying MG had to produce more, and if MG is getting open why is Jerry blaming him?

I don't hunt, so I don't know the laws in regard to hunting. But I do know one thing for certain. If what you say is true, people are ignoring that law at an alarming rate. Probably because it's not enforced, like fireworks and speed limits.

Where I live, you don't have to go to a fireworks show. Just step out of your front door. I'm not exaggerating. You'd swear the cops were on strike.

When I lived in PA, a woman was shot through the shoulder with a hunting arm while she was washing dishes in her kitchen. Too many irresponsible and reckless people to allow those kinds of arms anywhere close to population.

when I lived there, me and pops would hunt in the pine barrens of NJ. We weren’t archers so we would use shotguns with slugs in deer season. We would go to NY state and use our Marlins and Winchesters for deer being that riffles we’re allowed there.

we are conservationist and believe in good stewardship of the land which includes hunting only in season. The numbers of deer have exploded so much that many states are now slightly increasing the seasons to control overpopulation. My rule is only take what we eat and not an ounce more. My son will take an entire deer and use almost every bit of it, even tanning the hides and even crafting moccasins.

…..sorry for the temp hijack of the thread

my opinion is that there is a perceived lack of talent at the WR because we don’t have the traditional hierarchy that we used to have. We have a 1a or b with CeeDee and than the rest of the guys are so close in talent that they are interchangeable. It’s like wide receiver by committee and we never know who’s gonna be the #2. One week its Brown and then he disappears and it Gallup and so on.

the loss of Cooper and CeeDee not filling those shoes set up this string of perception. It can work and I’m hoping to see mad contribution by Washington when he shows up

I know what that’s like. My house used to be in the county and it was annexed right up to and including our home. 200 yards away it’s still county so people can legally hunt and I found a deer stand on that property, which is fine but it facing our neighborhood and the shot would have to come in the direction of our homes.

Some people are too lazy to drive 30 minutes away so they can hunt away from neighborhoods and homes. That’s where common sense and thinking of others comes in. In my case I talked to the hunter and helped him relocate the stand on the other side of the field to avoid a potential accident. Personally, I hunt in the middle of nowhere and have to hike to get to it……which makes it harder to return with meat but worth it.

Thats called:

-No guts
-No vision
-No clue

Which certainly explains a lot about you.

But I do find it ironic that you think its a "valid" approach yet you still have no problem saying what WONT happen. :muttley:

So I am curious: what kind of dirt do you have on the powers to be seeing as how you are not banned given your repeated violation of the rules? Must be nice.

If you think I violated a rule in my last post then there is your issue. You dont understand the rules enough to play within them.

Ive seen you get spanked plenty of times because you clearly cant control your anger/hate issues.

Im laughing while your spewing anger and hate.

Trust me, I dont get any special treatment around here. Im just better at all this than you are.

Don't confuse me with an animal nut. I have no problem with hunters. I've gone on hunting trips just for the food, beer, and camping trip alone. I just can't bring myself to shoot them. But would if I had to.

I see your concern with the lack of Cooper, but the Cowboys had problems even when Cooper was here. Find a way to win with who you have. We have enough talent at WR. It's up to the coaching staff to put them in the best position to win. I fully expect BIG FAT MIKE to figure it out. And again, come December, OBJ is always an option if they choose to go that route. I'm not sure how much help he would be, but it can't hurt. And like you said, Washingtom might pan out.

Gallup has two huge drops over the past couple weeks. He has no one to blame but himself for lack of production.

Based on past years, the Cowboys win over 90% of games when they rush for over 100 yards and Dak is the QB.

They also win a high percentage of games when the defense holds the opponent below 140 rushing yards.

In game 1 this season and the playoff game last season they had 71 & 77 yards rushing. They allowed 152 & 169 yards rushing. Improve either the run offense or run defense in those games and the probability of success is high. Improve both and the probability of success based on past seasons is over 90%.

Went to summer camp every year as a kid, heard stories of bears, counselors even telling us to make plenty of noise on the trails to alert any bears in the area…never saw one….ever, for many years.
Last couple of years we’ve seen over 10, they visited the cabin every night. We go trout fishing up there several times a year, and even in broad daylight you’d see them. Now we add air horns and bear spray to the tackle box….it’s crazy how bears are running around now.

I thought Gallup looked lazy not fighting for the ball the last few weeks.
