"Take it now or never."

Today we find out 49ers Willis is out for the year as is Seahawks' Mebane.

Giants stink and have major injuries, the Commanders locker room is in turmoil and they don't have a QB, the Eagles QB is out for 2 months and their oline continues to suffer injuries.

The Falcons, Saints and Panthers are all underachieving greatly this year. Bears are the 2010 Dallas Cowboys. And I don't care how good Bruce Arians is, you're not going deep into the playoffs with Drew Stanton, chalk up your L.

Guys, do you not see what's going on here in the NFC this year? I thought last season was the perfect opportunity for the Cowboys to make noise but we all know how that ended. Some how the football Gods have been merciful and blessed us with yet another clear path to at least the NFC title game. After years of stability, you're not going to get the NFC in this much chaos and disarray ever again (at least for this core of Cowboys). Meanwhile the Cowboys have been realitvely healthy (where have the hamstrings gone?) and the team chemistry hasn't been this high in 15 years (who would have ever thought we'd see the Landry Shift again!). I really hope the players take this bye week to acknowledge the great opportunity that is in front of them and finally seize it!

Just as no one cared about the Cowboys injuries I could careless about the opposing teams losing players we are told it is part of the game and no excuse or at least that was the situation when it was the Cowboys dealing with massive injuries. We still have a ways to go and for me not counting any chickens yet. lol

opportunity does'nt come by every year. we really need to take advantage of it and get into the playoffs and make a run. it seems this year about 20 teams have a real shot at the playoffs and no team really looks like they are unbeatable. golden opportunity that we can't let slip by

One game at a time. But if this team can get better rather than regress thru the rest of the season its not far fetched at all to think about it.

True, but just as people panic after the 2 game losing streak it is a bit early to be talking of championships. As you said 1 game at a time. Heck if Dallas loses a game the panic will set in once again. lol

I don't think the Falcons and Panthers are underachieving this year. I just don't think they are good.
Beat me to it. I'd say the same for the Saints and 9ers as well. The NFC has been abysmal for the better part of 3 years now, other than Seattle.

And let's not play the "these guys are hurt now is our time" card. We're a Dez or Tony injury away from maybe not winning another game.

I'm just saying there are a lot of weird things going on with our competition in the NFC this year. Whether it be injuries or poor team chemistry or just good ol' underachievement. Similar to how Super Bowl quarterbacks always say "you have to take advantage of this opportunity because you never know when you'll be back" (Marino), I think the Cowboys or at least the fans can acknowledge the urgency of taking advantage of this opportunity.

The loss to the Skins is reason for concern then followed by the loss to the Cards. This CAN be a very good team, but its not automatic. Better to sit back, watch each week w/o big expectations and enjoy it when they win. If they go on to do something it will be great. Anything more and you set yourself up to be let down - we've gotta pretty good track record for that.

It does seem that way for us the way the nfc is shaping up this year. But im finding myself in the same boat as last year even though I was beyond wrong. Lol hard to see any nfc team beating the broncos or pats in the sb.

I agree with a lot of strange things going on and if Dallas continues to play as they have they will have a chance. Right now Cowboy players are saying the right things looking to improve on what they have done offensively and defensively and not getting caught up in the hoopla. They need to stay grounded and continue to work for it. We will see what happens in the end.

I'll be honest and tell u what scares the hell out of me. We get to the playoffs and let's say we even win round 1, we then advance and face a Rogers of GB or let's say we advance all the way to the NFC Championship game or even the SB. At some point we are going to face a really really good QB that we have not really had to face yet. Can our D as it stands today get through an onslaught such as that?

I just have this picture in my mind where Romo once again has to be lights out Capt America to even be in a game and then we get the one critical mishap...And then it's back to Romo can't win the big one, or Romo choked etc. Would hate to see that be the outcome just because he has to keep score with a Manning or a Rogers because our defense just is not up to the challenge yet. It's really something, if we loose at any point in the playoffs it will be Romo's fault no matter how he plays. Just don't want to see that.

If Tony were to get hurt, you could tie a bow on our season. Brandon Weeden is atrocious. (Yes I just wanted to say he was bad again lol.)

Yes we do. And we see what we look like banged up to. Lots of football left to get to comfortable.

The things you are saying about all these teams, there fans are saying about the Cowboys.

Agree that NFC is ours for the taking. But no love for the Lions?

I really think the stars are aligning for a Cowboys run in the playoffs. How far, yet another question for another 45 days or so. Real football guys (coaches, former players) have said for ages that great defense, execution, and a little luck gets you to the big game or a title. That sounds about right. The last 4 games will dictate what happens, obviously. The sun doesnt shine on the same dog's tail all the time.

This only happens if Cowboys abandon the run and become one dimensional. When teams can pin their ears back and blitz the living daylights out of Romo, our chances for success decrease incrementally to the number of hits Romo takes. The running game cannot be abandoned, even if it is not producing early. The mentality we took into Seattle has to be our philosophy going forward, especially in the playoffs.
