I see you started a thread blaming the defense. Go read some of the posts by others. I'm not the only one thinking defense should be blamed for the loss yesterday.

I blamed the defense not for yesterday, but over all they have under performed. yesterday's loss is equally blamed on coaching, offense, defense. special teams. it was a failure up and down the team. but this defense is awful and far far far from being dominating of any type.

So the offense scored a measly six points against New England which doesn't even have a top 10 defense if I remember correctly and they last week they only put up 20 against a terrible Saints defense, and against Atlanta nothing literally nothing in the second half.

Yet it's all the defense's fault. Unbelievable. You can't have the defense on the field on the entire game with no support from the offense and sit and there and blame the defense.

And I didn't say they were dominating all year. I said they were dominant yesterday.

not all defenses fault. but this defense has been putrid in the second half of the games. so you blame the Atlanta loss on offense? they scored 28 in the first half. spotted them a 14 point lead. you expect the offense to be good? what about the defense? shut them out in the second half. but they gave up 22 points.

against NO the last three drives in reverse order -

80 yard TD
80 yard field goal attempt
33 yards punt
67 yard TD
70 yards field goal

they made one stop when it really counted. this defense is lost, confused and bad right now.

I expect the offense to be able to do something in the second half of the Atlanta game. I expect them to at least get in the end zone once against New England. To look like an NFL offense. They had two TD's against a defense that just gave up 40 in Philadelphia. When they went to Philadelphia they only managed one offensive touchdown. Since Week 1 they have only seven offensive touchdowns. That won't get it done.

When it matter it was closer to 40 and at the end it was 34.

so now you are making a judgement call. initially you said all of their possessions started 40, then some, then the announcers said, now its when it mattered. so again, 13-3 at the half. second half, first two drives. two TDs. started on their 20. when it didn't matter, they started at the 40 or better.

same quote, except change offense to defense.

I expect the defense to do something in the second half. make a stop. force a punt, instead of giving up a score and long drive every possession. I expect at least a sack or a TO. I expect them to look like an NFL defense in the second half. two long TDs starting the second half, just killed any chance. I expect them to play like they did against and inept Philly offense.

btw, that philly defense was a top 5 defense last year.

You are the one who said 32 when it mattered. Fact is their starting position was 34. I said 40. So I was off by 6 yards. Big deal.

You being butthurt and blaming the defense for the loss is ridiculous. Our offense scored 6 points. For you to to blame the defense for not holding the best offense in the NFL to less than 6 points tells everyone that you have no clue how football game is played.

What do you expect when the defense is on the field all game? Do you honestly expect them to be able to hold up? The Cowboys can't run the ball at all and the only thing we've been able to do consistently in the pass game is dump off passes to the backs. The formula success last year was controlling the clock and line of scrimmage and protecting the defense so they don't get exposed. Dallas has been unable to do the same this season. The defense isn't talented enough to overcome such an inept offense. I'm not sure any defense can overcome such ineptitude.

Also lol @ the Eagles having a top five defense last season. They gave up more big plays than about anyone in the league last year. That's not a good defensive unit.

Down 30 to 6 and he's clapping?

That was in the final drive, where Weeden had thrown multiple incompletions with no touch. Weeden responded with the hairball of a 4th down pass to Williams, who'd finally broken Butler's ankle on a route and then had to watch it sail off out of bounds.

The defense was mostly responsible for the Atlanta and saints game. Yesterday it was mostly offense.
