The genius coaching hire(s) of Cowboys Coach Brian Schottenheimer

If he's so great, why didn't he and his offense flourish in Dallas? And don't say Jerry because Jerry wasn't calling any plays. And don't say MM either because the offense was a lot better the first year after Moore was fired.
Could it maybe, just maybe, be better personnel over coaching? Like I said time will tell if he is a good coach or not. I have my doubts. In the mean time you guys can keep on anointing him as the next greatest coach ever that Dallas wasted a chance with.
It did.

If Kellen Moore is still an NFL head coach in 3 years or even an OC in 5 years, than he has naked pics of people doing bad things to children. IMO, he's very over rated and actually just isn't very good even as an OC. In the years since he became an OC I haven't once thought, wow he is actually really good at this job. But for some reason he got anointed by the media as the next great thing. I don't see it, at all.
I hope you’re not suggesting the Philadelphia Eagles are better off without him. That would hurt.

He got out of Dallas unscathed. He’s was quickly hired by the LA Chargers, quickly hired by Philadelphia, and gets his first HC position in New Orleans. He knows how a proper NFL franchise is run. No owner is the GM nonsense.

He has a huge challenge at New Orleans. He’ll win as many or more games this season than Dallas does. Not going to be Coach of the Year or anything, but he’ll show significant progress.

Like the assistants much more than Brian Schottenheimer
I think he actually might bring something to the table. He learned a lot from one of the best in Pete Carroll.
Also, the main problem could be Jerry. Will Jerry let him do his stuff.

Saints are going to win more games than Dallas? Who's going to be throwing the ball
Look what happened when Carr went out last year

Look at the Saints’ schedule. It is very possible they win more games than the Cowboys.
They won 5 games last year and they had Carr for a good amount of the season (started 10 games). This year they will be w/o Carr for all the games
Saints didn't improve their roster much while the Cowboys did.

All 32 teams improved. How much is yet to be determined, for all of them.

Jerry passing on KMoore, for whatever reason, doesn't make any sense.

I dont think we know the full story on what happened in KMoore's interview.

weird.

True, but some better than others. Saints still don't have an answer on replacing Carr.
They were total trash w/o him in the lineup
Plus don't forget about the Taysom Hill injury. He filled a huge need for that team that will be hard to replace.

The Saints are not going to tear up the NFL this season . Neither are the Cowboys. If you’re implying Moore does not have as much to work with as Schottenheimer does than “Schotty” will win a lot more games. If he doesn’t, Jerry should never have let Moore go.

You really think the Saints will win as many games as us with Rattler or a rookie at QB?

The Saints are not a team devoid of talent. The Cowboys are a team that can attest to that. And while they may be starting a rookie at quarterback that doesn’t mean he’ll be a bad quarterback. He certainly played a lot of ball in the six years. Compare his experience to Joe Milton’s who many here see as a viable alternative at QB for the Cowboys. (he isn’t)

Point is, the Saints new head coach was involved in the selection of their rookie quarterback. He’s invested in the young man. Schottenheimer inherits Prescott. Not many new head coaches have ever been ultimately successful with a quarterback they inherited. Apologies to Sirianni, who was, but he’s an enigma in a variety of ways.

The Saints enjoy a comparatively easy schedule this season and the Dallas Cowboys stink. If you had to live on the difference between which of the two teams is better you’d starve to death.

If Schotty pans out, then we will have a record for the number of people being wrong in a poll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. I'm no rose-colored-glasses homer by any means. Nor am I a Dak fan. But to say Rattler or rookie Tyler Shough are going to be as good as him is pretty insane. The Saints could easily be one of the worst teams in the league, just as they were last year when Carr was out.

And pretty much every head coach is involved in the selection of a rookie QB, including every bust. Means absolutely nothing and it's funny you'd think it does.

Interesting how a head coaches’ ability will eventually be determined by the team a front office puts on the field.

Some are exceptional motivators, but most are about the players they happen to have or not have.

I didn’t say their quarterback would be as good as Dak. I’m saying the Saints are as good as the Cowboys. Neither team will be pushing the Rams, Lions, Commanders for supremacy of the NFC this season. Lord knows.

Probably not. but that doesn't mean they'll be the same.

Do you realize they went 0-7 last year with Carr? You think Moore is so good he'll make that much difference? Check this article -- even Saints people predict they'll be terrible.

Do you think Schottenheimer is? At least the Saints made a bonafide search for a new head coach. Jerry couldn’t come to terms with McCarthy so he simply elevated a coach with a “name” from the existing staff.

Unfortunately the “name” was established by the father, not the son. Obviously that phenomenon Jerry Jones relates to and appreciates.
