Wolverine is right.

Many have already given Romo his props. I saw it on several threads after Saturday's game.

Romo has earned the second QB spot. I sincerly hope he can improve more. I'd love to see him develop into a stud QB.

I'd love to see it from Henson as well.

But I'm beginning to see what this QB arguing stuff is really about. In thinking back to Carter/Hutch.....now to Romo/Henson, it's all been about the same thing......The folks that do the most arguing simply want to shove it in everyone's faces that they were right about something.

This post isn't about Romo......as I've said, we've praised him in other threads.

This is about you. You want praise.

So here it is.......Congratulations on being right about Romo winning the backup job. You deserve props.

Same to all you other polar bears........

Now, can we please get back to rooting for all the Cowboy players?

C'mon.

It's obvious why nobody is talking about this guy having a good game. All signs are pointing to him having beat Henson out of the #2 spot. And A LOT of you guys are bitter because Romo most likely earned his keep.

But this thread is for the people who saw Romo's game. Saw him make the throws. Noticed his composure and fiery competitive nature. And liked what they saw.

I gotta give the guy his props. And since my opinion isn't welcome in the other QB threads, I figured I'd start my own. :)

Give the guy his props - right here in this thread.

Props to you Tony Romo, you earned it!

Romo went in, did the job and flat out outplayed Henson. I feel he can step in and play if we need him.

Why such the negative attitude? Why not get behind Romo? If Henson had played better, why not get behind him? Why are we so down on the QBs on the roster? Why not let them play a few real games before jumping all over them or saying some snide comment about them.

How about a bit of optimism, I have waited a long time for the offseason to get here, and now that it is here, I sure feel good about this team .... for now.

That may change, but it is going to take more than a couple preseason games and a few practices to make me think otherwise.

I have a lot of hope/optimism towards the season (like every year). Now let's win us some ball games.

Oh yeah, props to my boy Romo!

Good post bro. I would support Henson if he came out and showed something. But he never did. I'd love to be wrong. Hell, for a while I though everyone was wrong and we were gonna have to call Vinny T.

That was gonna be my worst nightmare.

I don't care who's wrong or right though. I understood the hope for Henson ... I just couldn't understand the reasoning behind so much of it.

That said, I'm really just glad we have someone with a clue behind center. I have this funny feeling that we're going to turn to the #2 QB at some point in time.

Hopefully later rather than sooner, but Bledsoe is gonna get hit - real hard, numerous times over the course of the season.

Hope your boy Bledsoe stays upright this year, Nors.

BTW, here is another subject for discussion. Just how bad would Bledsoe have to play this year for Big Bill to yank him and send in Romo?

Any opinions?

I have been very consistant and believe Romo deserves props for stepping his game up and I whole heartedly hope he is sucssesful. My gripe is why can't we all pull for all three qb's as they are a member of our TEAM.I am disgusted with both sides who root for one and gloat on the others PERCIEVED failure. There are gonna be 53 Cowboys when the final roster is set and if a person is not pulling for each to be a sucsses,it tells me that person is something other than a loyal fan. There are not many players at the nfl level that don't belong there at some level .If they are wearing a star on thier helmet then they are serving a purpose for our team period.Even skunkboy bna.

Biz-wah?

Wah ...

Clearly, Romo isn't getting near as much props as Henson is getting excuses.

The Henson excuses have taken away his deserved props for his play. I don't even think I'm right or wrong. I'm smart enough to know that Henson could develop in a year ... or even more likely two. I'd bet against that, but it's possible.

The only thing I was right about was Romo probably beat him out this year, but he did that last year too. That, and that BP doesn't think much of Henson's game.

I don't want props personally, but Romo deserves it.

There is something about his character that I haven't seen in a long long time in Dallas. It's that fiery attitude and he's having fun out there. The guy idolizes Brett Favre ... and you can see it in his attitude, no so much his game just yet, but in his character. Notice I didn't say he's the "future" just yet, but he's given me - a dedicated Dallas Cowoys fan - hope.

He deserves a lot more props than he's getting. He moved the O very well the other night, but all people want to talk about his Henson this, Henson that ... it gets old hearing about a guy that hasn't done squat except run the pregame warm up offense ... especially when Romo performed well in a game.

Romo went out and surprises a lot of people. That wasn't luck either. He earned it. I just think all this Henson talk and excuse making takes away from the fact that Romo did a great job considering his circumstances and how he got here. The underdog has risen. And he deserves some freakin' props man!

I think so too.

This is a relief to me. What's not to like about the guy?

BTW Nors, did you hear his interview on DC.com?

Favre without the arm. Great!! Just what we need. A gunslinger without a gun. :D

Did you catch the comment from the Texans' announcer after one of Romo's throws the other night against the Texans scrubs?
I quote..."It took forever to get there, but it got there".

Galloway was saying today that he interviewed a prominent player last week and when the interview was over, he put the notebook away and just talked to the player off the record for a while. He asked about the backup QBs and the player said, "I'll say this, if Romo had to play, we'd have confidence he could get it done." Galloway asked him if he thought he looked even better than Bledsoe at times (as rumored), and the player just paused and repeated, "If Romo had to play, we have confidence he could get it done for us."

Winning over your teammates is important at that position, and it sounds like Romo has done that.

Hos & Ad, you guys need to read post #28 in this thread. I don't care who is right. The only thing I was right about was Romo will beat out Henson in camp.

True.......I don't see why we have to be polarized on this issue. It's stupid for both sides.

I don't see more excuses for Henson than Props for Romo. Read the threads after Sat's game......Romo was praised. Nearly all acknowledged that he would be the best choice for number two.

I saw few excuses for Henson.....mainly pleas to be patient......that it will take time with him.

The Henson excuses have taken away his deserved props for his play. I don't even think I'm right or wrong. I'm smart enough to know that Henson could develop in a year ... or even more likely two. I'd bet against that, but it's possible.

Whatever..........this is about you....and you know it.

Take a look at your sig. You want to call attention to the fact that you dislike Henson. You want credit for being right........and I gave it to you.

The only thing I was right about was Romo probably beat him out this year, but he did that last year too. That, and that BP doesn't think much of Henson's game.

I agree that the only thing you were right about was Romo beating out Henson.

We know nothing of what Parcells thinks.......

I don't want props personally, but Romo deserves it.

This is bull ca-ca. You do want props.......

I see some Favre-like qualities in Romo as well. I would love to see a Kurt Warner type story come from him. Right now, I think he needs a lot of work. Just like Henson. I think it's too early in their careers to label them anything.

I just want to see them both succeed.

He deserves a lot more props than he's getting. Romo's getting a lot of "props". But for the sake of ending this argument, what exactly do you want people to say about him? I've heard nothing but good things about his performance in the Houston and AZ game.

No, this is most definitely about indivividual posters here....it's about pride.

All you've done on this issue is rag on Henson. And it's not just you with Henson. There are others that do the same with Romo. I just can't understand why folks are so angry when the player they don't like plays well, and why others get so giddy when that player plays poorly.

This is what it seems you're doing......it seems that you're just beside yourself with glee that Henson is failing.

To me, this is nothing to be happy about......and I wouldn't be happy if Romo was failing. I'm upset about Henson because I want him to succeed. I'm happy with Romo because he actually WON the backup spot.

Remember, our allegience should always be to the team.....not individuals. This type of peeing contest was stupid with Hutch/Carter, and it's stupid with Romo/Henson.

Hey man, I can see it. No one ever gave this guy a shot in the first place. All I've heard on hear is things about "so and so has a source and it would be wise to listen"

I think the kids a competitor in every sense of the word.
