Hos & Ad, you guys need to read post #28 in this thread. I don't care who is right. The only thing I was right about was Romo will beat out Henson in camp.
This thread is very self indulging but hey it is your 15 mins.

The thing that gets me is, the press and most of the posters here gave props were props were due. Now you are sitting there skinning, grinning, and yelling to the rafters that you won. It is obvious that you don’t like Henson; you will say that you could care less either way but your actions dictates otherwise. IMO, you walk a fine line of hating on a player that plays for a team you root for.

There are not two sides stirring this pot.

You have 4 people starting thread after thread pounding on Henson and using Romo as the club.

You have people sick and tired of it, calling them on their crap.

Say ANYTHING even remotely positive about Henson and you get attacked.

Say ANYTHING that is not glowing about Romo and you get attacked.

Take these 4 posters out of the equation and you know what would happen?

We'd be talking about EVERYTHING but back up QBs.

Thank you!!!

I am sick and tired of it! I know a lot of others are too! This type of debating ruined forums with Q and Hutch. I don't want it to do the same here.

It's about pride for some people!

I would love! LOVE!!!!! To have someone, ANYONE win the QB JOB and become the franchise guy!!! Then we can all rally to that guy, and stop this stupid crud!

Favre without the arm. Great!! Just what we need. A gunslinger without a gun. :D

Did you catch the comment from the Texans' announcer after one of Romo's throws the other night against the Texans scrubs?
I quote..."It took forever to get there, but it got there".

I saw the passes he made and they looked just fine. This is the nonsense that makes your points so ridiculous. No one said he had a great arm, but it's good enough to get the job done.

I'll take a guy with a head for the game and an average arm over a guy with the mental capacity for the position of a clown and a gun any day of the weak.

Well, props to Tony for winning the 2 spot.

But then again, props to Crayton for winning the 3 spot.

And where are the props to Rob for looking like he's winning the 1 spot?

And while we're at it, props to TT for possibly beating out MB III.

Oh yeah, props to my boy for staying healthy thru three whole preseason games!

Props to Fergy for putting in an appearance on the practice field.

MAJOR props to Bledsoe for not throwing even one pick in preseason.

Big bad props to Rowdy for making only one fan's kid cry (far as we know) at Oxnard.

Serious props to Bill for not chewing ice in PCs too much this summer, and to JJ for limiting the lip smacking.

While I'm at it, mega props to Tucker for not letting Thomas threepete him again.

WOW! Big props to Als for still being here.

And who doesn't think that Sean Payton merits wicked props for calling two preseason games?

Props to all NFL groundskeepers for keeping the grass cut or turf smooth.

Props also must go to Roy for not horsecollaring and Jason for not demanding an early extension, to Matt Mosley for appearing to have actually watched one practice, and Spags for only writing "if he's so good why is he available?" 40 times this offseason.

Now I will make a separate thread for each and every one of these well deserved props.

OK ad, you say I'm self indulging. But if I really wanted to stir the pot all I'd have to do is go pull up some old threads where people like BlindZ, Hos and many others were guaranteeing that Henson would beat out Romo in camp.

If you didn't notice a few Henson bitter-boys were "calling me out" ... and saying I hijacked their perfectly good thread, even though it was a poor analysis and thread. So I made my own. Not to bag on Henson, but to praise Tony Romo.

In fact, if I really wanted to stir the pot I would have been on here Saturday night after or better yet during the game "stirring the pot" ...

.... but I wasn't.

And I don't hate Drew Henson, Ad. I hated the idea of him getting anywhere near the field in a game of any significance.

My guess was that he wouldn't have the mental part of the game down ... it just seemed like that would be the case.

Now I did make a friendly sig bet with Hostile ... do you think he would take it easy on me if he won the bet about the #2 battle?

He and I were just having some fun ... people take this stuff entirely too seriously. In talking with Hos in PM's etc, he sure doesn't seem to be taking it personally like some of the others on here.

People are lashing out at me, because I said Romo was going to play well ... and beat out Henson.

Why though?

It's more to do with them being wrong, than it is w/ me being right.

I'm not over here saying "I told you so" ... but I will stand by my opinion that I took so much heat and personal insults myself over the past year. I was insulted many times over my perspective - many times.

Now all I want to do is give this guy credit. I do really like Tony Romo as a player. And I don't hate DH, I just wanted him to earn his job. Had he done that, I most assuredly would have been man enough to give him credit for his play and been man enough simply admit I was wrong ... and move on ... and I'd give the guy his props if he earned it. I even made a post about it.

I guess some misunderstand, don't like, disagree with the way I express my "sense of humor", but I am passionate about the Dallas Cowboys ... and believe it or not, ulitimately anyone who plays for the Cowboys.

Even Parcells himself has ribbed his own players ... "she" comes to mind ...

I'm not going to change who I am just because it p's a few fans off. You either get the symbolism and humor and take no offense to it ... or you don't and you do take offense.

Like I said, I don't care who was right or wrong. Even now, there's a chance I may have lost that silly, sig line, gentlemen's bet between Hos and I. There is still one more game left to play.

If I lose the bet, I'll wear a sig of his choice like a man and admit I was wrong. Nothing has become official just yet. There's still hope for Henson. I just wanted to officially give Tony Romo his props for the game he played Saturday. I think he deserves it.

What do you think?

Good stuff, LTN. But I was kicked out of the QB discussions today by fans with fangs who are clearly angry at me. So, I made my own thread to talk about what I wanted to talk about. (Notice is didn't say "BnA back up QB job party" ... or Banned "nugget" etc)

And Crayton hasn't won the #3 spot officially. Rob Pettiti hasn't won the starting spot officially. Tony Romo hasn't won the #2 spot officially. I was talking about Saturday's game in particular. He does deserve props for that game. You even said it. Nice post btw.

And TT hasn't beat out Barber ... this isn't about who won the spot, it's about Tony Romo's underdog-rising performance.

Me thinks you don't like Tony Romo as much as Drew Henson and are mocking this thread because Tony is having more success in preseason games.

I do agree about the groudskeepers though - 10 x's the props to them. The field looked great.

Wah ...

Clearly, Romo isn't getting near as much props as Henson is getting excuses.

The Henson excuses have taken away his deserved props for his play. I don't even think I'm right or wrong. I'm smart enough to know that Henson could develop in a year ... or even more likely two. I'd bet against that, but it's possible.

The only thing I was right about was Romo probably beat him out this year, but he did that last year too. That, and that BP doesn't think much of Henson's game.

I don't want props personally, but Romo deserves it.

There is something about his character that I haven't seen in a long long time in Dallas. It's that fiery attitude and he's having fun out there. The guy idolizes Brett Favre ... and you can see it in his attitude, no so much his game just yet, but in his character. Notice I didn't say he's the "future" just yet, but he's given me - a dedicated Dallas Cowoys fan - hope.

He deserves a lot more props than he's getting. He moved the O very well the other night, but all people want to talk about his Henson this, Henson that ... it gets old hearing about a guy that hasn't done squat except run the pregame warm up offense ... especially when Romo performed well in a game.

Romo went out and surprises a lot of people. That wasn't luck either. He earned it. I just think all this Henson talk and excuse making takes away from the fact that Romo did a great job considering his circumstances and how he got here. The underdog has risen. And he deserves some freakin' props man!

C'mon.

It's obvious why nobody is talking about this guy having a good game. All signs are pointing to him having beat Henson out of the #2 spot. And A LOT of you guys are bitter because Romo most likely earned his keep.

But this thread is for the people who saw Romo's game. Saw him make the throws. Noticed his composure and fiery competitive nature. And liked what they saw.

I gotta give the guy his props. And since my opinion isn't welcome in the other QB threads, I figured I'd start my own. :)

Give the guy his props - right here in this thread.

Props to you Tony Romo, you earned it!
