This is just typical nfl mantra crap.
Everyone knows these, but saying it and achieving it are 2 different things.
It requires good coaching, play calling, play designs etc to do these.

About the 3rd downs, doesnt it help to be good on 1st and 2nd down too? Better to have 3rd and 2 than 3rd and 16 or 9.
You have to coach your players good , have good plays and game plans etc to do these things.
