Garrett's play calling did NOT lose the game. Coulda, shoulda and woulda do not equal the reality. Romo sucked tonight. And so did the secondary (across the board, every single one of them played so inconsistently).

Wade has lost his pass rushing mojo, and neither the prevent nor the nickel package can stop jack.

I thought Red had a great game. A couple of series he tried to get the passing game going, who wouldn't?

When it didn't work, he went back to the ground. But at some point, you do have a Quarter Back, and you MUST throw the ball.

that time would be when they prove they can stop the running game, they didn't do that all game. There was no need to start trying to pass up by 4 at mid field in the 4th when your QB had showed you nothing but mistakes all night :bang2:

The only thing I really didn't understand in this game was the pass/play call on the 3rd pick. We didn't need to go for a home run there. We had just scored previously, we shut down the Giants 3 and out, had the momentum and the Giants D appeared tired. You want a long sustained scoring drive there. Keep pounding them with the run and dinks and dunks.

Romo obviously didn't have his best stuff (understatement) so what kind of logic tells Garrett to go for the home run when your guy doesn't have his best stuff? It sucked everything out of us and the stadium. And the Giants did the right thing immediately after that play, they threw a bomb down field and connected.

A lot of good efforts were wasted tonight.

3 things I'm wondering:

1. When are we going to get a sack?
2. When are we going to get a turnover?
3. When is Wade going to stop with the Gomer bit? Brand new house, taking an L, opportunity to drop some fire....nothing but ho hum. The presser of Coughlin before Wade truly shows the difference of a well coached team.

I wanted him to come out pissed in that presser...its just not him and never will be.

Bingo. If you know your QB is having an off night, don't ask him to throw when deep in your own territory. That's Football 101.

Question is did he say throw deep? None of us know. Garrett calls the play in, but it's Romo's job to decide who to actually throw to. And that boy was bad off. Romo needs to be reigned in and let our running game get after it. It seems it can. If Red doesn't pull Romo in some, and get after the running game after this game, I'll totally agree he sucks and needs to go.

i praised the guy for his play calling cause he did a great job for most of it

but suddenly during key stretches even with romo's struggles he decides its better to pass then run the ball, which WORKED ALL NIGHT!!

it was as if when he sat there and so barber and felix rip off 15 yards runs he cringed and said "ahh man now i guess i have to run it again".

but overall he wasnt bad he did a decent job and called well enough for us to win. romo decision making was more at fault then anything. garrett wasnt great but he wasnt mainly to blame either

I am talking about the decision to throw the ball 3 times from our own 12 with under two minutes to go in the first half. That was just asking for trouble.

Jason Garrett is the best coach we have. IF the guy running the defense got the results this offense did we would be a legitimate contender.

its a 60 minute game. Romo made mistakes tonight, two big ones. ON the flip side with the ball in his hand and the offense on the field in a pressure situation we went right up the field, particularly a 3rd down throw to witten.

however, the defense here never plays 60 minutes. The problems lie there, with the staff and the players.

it takes a statement like this to make you realize the kind of **** we are in as an organization.

Awful hard to blame Garrett people. You need balance, the QB just blew it, period.

The Giants were missing two DT's and then Tuck got hurt. They were missing 2 of their top 3 CB's and both safeties were playing hurt. You have to go after that some.

The OL was pretty damn good. The run game was good. I saw people open on pass plays. The problem was the guy throwing the ball, nothing else.

I disagree Dbair, Aikman was a much better QB than Romo, and I'm sure he had many games in which he only threw the ball 18-22 times.

Why? Because their opponents were not able to stop the running game. So they kept feeding Smith the rock.

You don't have to have balance if your opponents can't stop one aspect of your game.

I don't just look at how many points the offense scored, I also have to look at how many points the offense gave up off of their turnovers.

I put most of the blame for this loss on Garrett.

I dont know that I'll question everything about the playcalling tonight but I do have to question why, when we're clearly gashing them with the run, that we didn't lean on that a heck of a lot more heavily than we did.

Seems like we could have leaned on that aspect even more but then again it's very hard to do when you're turning the ball over 4 times.

When they stop the run. Who cares if you have 50 running plays and 8 pass attempts, the key is to win the game.

And with the running game clicking like it was, there was no need to try and have a perfectly balanced offensive attack just for kicks.

Play calling was garbage again. Where was Felix Jones? He had what, seven carries? for 90+ yards!!! Did they feature him in the passing game at all? Maybe one or two catches? The best weapon on our team gets ignored by his offensive coordinator once again. Garrett is a joke.

In his mind, and this is my opinion, we were running so good that you can actually catch a defense off guard and put the knock out punch in. The problem was, Romo just should not have thrown that deep ball, he just could not help himself.

Like me and food.

he was suffering pretty bad from cramping, apparently his right calf was stiff all night and really bothering him.

Red certainly doesnt escape from any blame. His hate of using the run game consitently throught a game makes him a complete joke of a coordinator. Lets see we have 3 stud RB's but naw lets go deep instead because Romo sure has a lot more success for our offense with those INT's than our RB's who were getting big gains consistently... Red is a joke!

Do some people think we should never pass at all?

when it's working or we have to, go for it.

when our QB is having one these game, our running game is killing them, it's the 4th QTR, we have the lead and the ball on their half then no
All i want is for them to call plays that's working and not go away from what's working to try and get something that's not working going when there's no need to

Well Garrett did pull the reigns back as it became more apparent that it wasnt Romo's day.

I'm not mad that we threw the ball up 24-20 with the ball in NY territory. I was mad at the bomb into double coverage.

I saw an increased emphasis on the run esp in the second half. That's why I'm not gonna bash Garrett on this loss.
