THe misery continues.
Terrance Newman has appeared to lose a step. For the second week in a row he has looked awful. THe other Two corners look lost and Ken Hamlin is completely Useless.
All the money on this team is on the defense, The head coach kept his job because of his ability to coach and call the defense, we have a guy running the secondary who has always coached his players to play the man not the ball.
Now all of a sudden, The defense flat out stinks. I know romos turnovers were huge, no doubt about it. But having everything happen that happened and to have them first and 20 at their own 10 and allow them to go right up the field and lose.
Nothing can be said about that. This team has the look of a team that is going to spring holes everywhere when the injuries mount up.
As far as phillips goes, He shouldnt have been brought back to begin with, now we get to have a full season of him and campo coaching guys who appear to be average players.
I am not sure how jenkins, scandrick, hamlin or newman could play worse, but unfortunately there is a game next week and having to sell out to stop the run is probably going to allow the other steve smith to embarrass this team.
The giants put on a clinic on offense on how to win an nfl game. THe giants have the better quarterback, the better coach and the better team. They stayed the course a few years ago and the cowboys appear to be in their rear view.
Its only week 2 and winning or losing this game may not make or break the season, but It appears this team could spring leaks with an injury or two. Throw in the head coach and defensive coordinator appears to be outmatched against every quality opponent.
The thing is no one should be suprised. This team brings us nothing but misery and I have a sneaking suspicion there is more of it coming.

You know, I don't know listening to the misery parade if the same people cheerleading this team as the best in the East are the same ones despairing now, the same ones who argued ENDLESSLY that last year has zero to do with what we do this year, now see that this team is - you guessed it - about the same team as last year. Underacheiving, error prone, and likely to stumble to the finish line just short, or just into, the playoffs, where they will likely get thumped. Why? Because we are we thought we were.

The coaching is atrocious, the team has fully absorbed the mentality of it's zero personality head coach, and nothing has improved from last year. It's fraudulent. Even though I am primed for a very mediocre year, it still pains me to see the same cyclical things continue to happen out there on the field in games that matter against big time opponents....

No one looked worse than arizona last year at thanksgiving yet somehow they went to the playoffs.
The problem I have with this team right now is that the more talented side of the ball, the side where all the high draft picks and money is, where the better coaches are supposed to be, seems to be a mess.
I am just not sure wade phillips has the stomach for the fight that is about to begin. His head is the one that is going to be asked for starting tomorrow morning. He is so sensitive I dont think he can handle it. We already know the players have basically no respect for the guy so this could really cause a problem.

But its pretty telling that the problem still lies on that side of the ball. Parcells didn't fix the issue; Wade hasn't either.
At some point, you look at those 11 and have to wonder how much talent (despite the money and high draft picks) is really on that side of the ball.
Outside of Ware and Ratliff.... its looking bad.
