Nah, I've seen this movie before and I know how it ends. I'm not getting sucked into it again.

I don't post here much anymore, I stopped posting in the middle of last years offseason. But after what I saw this evening I decided to start again.

I saw the writing on the wall with this team back in January. I wrote about it quite a bit, but I got harrassed for not being more "rah rah" about this team. It got old and I had better things to do so I stopped posting. But watching this team play has been frustrating since last year. And our front office staff makes things even more frustrating. During the offseason everyone wanted to see this team for more than what it was:
  • A team with talent that is missing critical components to take it over the top.
  • A team that has little fire and passion.
  • A team with poor coaching and poor preparation.
  • An owner/GM who is a great owner, but poor GM. And it really hurts this football team.
You can mark my words, this will be how our year goes. We will show flashes of potential and then have games like this. The team lacks fire and lacks discipline. We are an 9-7 team at best, more than likely 8-8 or 7-9.

We are who we are: Average.

no doubt about it. Terrance Newman is not the same guy. Its abundandtly clear. Ken Hamlin doesnt do a single thing any more than average, he appears to be a lazy prima donna to me.

I think bradie is a good player. And ware and ratliff obviously, The rest of the guys are all suspect and now that they are all in key roles it looks pretty shaky.

Its really dissapointing not only because we lost, but because the offense is going to have to find a way to carry this defense again.

Eli Manning put on a clinic. That play action pass down the middle of the field at the end of the third quarter was just a microcosm of the game. He was doubled but sensebaugh ended up out of position somehow.

We sold out to stop the run and no one in the secondary could do anything, it looked like 2000 with goodrich and larrimore out there. ANd hey what do you know Dave Campo is here too.

...and that's part of the problem too, with Romo.

You take a look at Brees... and he's never had a defense in New Orleans to bail him out. And other than that one year where he advanced to the NFC Championship game (and lost), the Saints haven't helped him enough.

The Colts didn't win until their defense started stepping it up later in the year.

And even Brady has had defenses to bail him out. This season will be interesting to watch, bec. he won't be afforded that luxury. Brady is an excellent QB... and he is going to be asked to carry that team. And yeah, he did that during their 16-0 regular season, but the defense got enough stops that year.

Romo's never had that.

Combine that with his gunslinger mentality... and its not really a surprise he struggles at times.

Until the defense is fixed; we are going to have to ask Romo to put up massive amount of points.

And to do that, Romo is going to have to take chances (by design... and by his very nature).

You sound like me. The only difference? I couldn't care less if they criticize me for not being Mr. Rah Rah... I'm here for the duration. I see what I see and it sickens me. Welcome back by the way. Please post more often.

I just can't buy into this team anymore.

I have no doubt they are extremely talented and could win it all if they ever figure out how to stop beating themselves.

But they can't. They just can't do it.

Good team but lady luck hates us and on top of that we will find a way to lose.

At least Romo gave some what of an encouraging press conference. But talk is cheap.

I no longer have high expectations for this team. Im just going to sit back and watch and hope they can overcome their boneheadedness.

Thats what hurts the most.

The only team that can beat Dallas is the Cowboys.

And they always find a way to do it. Always

this offense is aggressive and romo is taught to be aggressive here. This offens always shows up for 60 minutes and will never quit. They made mistakes tonight but they always see it through.

THe defense however was handed a first and 20 with 105,000 people behind them and they proceeded to do what they always do, particularly to manning and the giants. Score another one for kevin gilbride.

You don't fire your head coach 2 games into a season after you lose by 2 at home to the NFC favorites.

Show some sensibility, people.

we all know he is not getting fired. Right now.

we also all know he is going to be out at the end of the year.

He basically has one purpose here, to put together a defense that wins games and he cant do it.

I just hope the team finds a way to muster up enough to compete monday night.

we have since examples of this crap since December 2007 the team ain't getting better it's getting worse. Sooner or later we're going to have to remove the problem before it's too late, personally i'd rather do that now then wait another full year knowing it's not going to get any better. There are reasons why wade has NEVER won a playoff game, the same sloppy undisciplined play this team displays was also a trademark of his other teams.

It's so ******* obvious he's not a good coach everyone but Jerry and a handful of fans can see that :bang2:

I think it would light a HUGE fire. No one respects that guy and it tells everyone that we ain't playing around or your *** is gone too

Problem is that Jerry has some kind of strange aversion to saying anything that could be construed as negative. I guess all those positive thinking tapes he listens to prohibits that kind of stuff.

Jerry had the chance to crack the whip when TO was released, but what does he say? "we want to be more Romo friendly", typical crap spewing from his gullet

So even if he canned Wade, he would release some kind of positive mush-mouth statement that would undermine any pressure it would put on the players and coaches

or not.....

Wade is soft and so his players reflect it. We constantly have poor tackling, blown assignments, and are not prepared for the challenge ahead. That just doesnt fly on ANY team!

Oh yeah he has 14 games to fix this. If he can't then sayonara Wade.

I think Jerry missed the boat on Singletary.

Oh well.

Not throwing pick-sixes and giving the opponent the ball inside our 30 would be a good start. Or maybe not going three-and-out three times from deep in our own territory.

Frankly, the offense was at least as culpable as the defense in this game. The Giants scored only 16 points when they started farther away than our 28-yard line. If our offense (and special teams, although it was an offensive player) doesn't keep giving the Giants points and/or the ball deep in our own territory, they don't even score 20 points and we win easily.

Putting all of the blame on the defense is like blaming the guy who made the last out of the baseball game. Yes, the defense allowed the field goal at the end, but it was the offense's turnovers that were the bigger problem.

when was the last time our defense made a big stop at the end of a game? week 2 last year after they gave up 30 points?

good points. but they are to inconsistent. one week they play good the next they're terrible.

weeks 1,2,4 and 5 thay were awful. as was in week 7,9,15 and 16. so half the season they play good and half they play awful. that's just not acceptable.

Weeks 1 and 15 were dominant performances (205 yards and 10 points allowed, and 218 yards and six points allowed). Maybe you meant Weeks 16 and 17 last year, or Week 1 this year??

As far as consistency, Football Outsiders' numbers indicate that our defense was only slightly more inconsistent than average last year -- and considering that it's the bad defenses that usually are more consistent (consistently bad), that's not too surprising. They ranked our defense ninth overall and 20th in consistency. The Ravens, Bucs, Bears and Giants were all ranked higher overall but also were more inconsistent (the Giants were the most inconsistent defense in the league). None of the top 10 defenses were any higher than ninth in consistency.

I'm not going to scream and holler about Wade. I predicted this and never wanted him to begin with.

Oh well.
