Too funny. I have 25. A few that I should not have blocked but found them to be too annoying to deal with. A few that were just jerks. Lastly, a few that would be so nasty I would dream about the good old days when I just would stomp some people. Kids, wife, and a new career derailed the stomping days.

I’ve used the ignore button a couple of times in 15 years, but I had decided it just wasn’t worth it. I’ll read, roll my eyes, laugh, and nod. I might agree, I might not, but I’ve tried to avoid certain topics and posters, or posters who are just fan bois of one player and constantly drag down other players.

I will engage those posters on other topics, if I have something of value to add, or a funny gif. I love humor and use the gifs to lighten it up some. But in the end you gotta do what works for you @erod , but good post.

Sometimes individuals I don't particularly care for post things I find absurd. Other times they post really great stuff. Ergo, I would never put anyone on ignore. You might be missing out on a great post.

I think I've only put one person on ignore but since have taken him off.
I think I'm on a few ignore lists but that's when I argued more doggedly.
Maybe I'm getting older and more mellow, but I don't have the time for long drawn-out arguments. And, truthfully, I recognize that such arguments are many times about ego, pride, arrogance and not wanting to relent. Now, I'm more willing to relent so there would be no need for anyone to put me on ignore. Not that I would care.
I think I'm still on ignore for challenging one fan's opinion that Noah Brown is the steal of the draft. Judging by Brown's career, I likely will stay on his ignore list forever.

It’s old age my dude lol. I enjoyed the back n forth over the years.

One of the very best features of this great site is the ability to put posters on "ignore" and get rid of the white noise.

Second.

I heartily endorse the *plonk*. Once upon a time on the internet, people used to know that if you block the guys you consider low value or annoying, your life gets better.

If only people could also just *not read* the threads they don't like.

erod, Ignore can't be great unless they know you're Ignoring them. When my wife wanted to let me know she was ignoring me, there was no mistaking that. Ignore for effect. And above all, Ignore them first. Ignoring as a response is weak sauce.

One of the very best features of this great site is the ability to put posters on "ignore" and get rid of the white noise.

It's not something you need often, but it really parses down the site to what's interesting, relevant and conversational, while getting rid of the simpletons and riff-raff from your feed. It sharpens your experience here and eliminates the time waste of going back and forth with the clueless and meandering know-nothings.

I highly recommend it. I've got about 12 on ignore, some of them from forever ago that I'm not even sure are still here. I use it sparingly.

I don't recommend using it just because of a spirited debate that gets testy or even personal, then cools off later and gets back to meaningful football discussion. It's just the internet, and who cares about that stuff. We all get a little overly passionate at times about the Cowboys.

I'm referring to those useless fence-posts who never add anything to any conversation, and don't have the football acumen to be worth your time or thought process. You know the kind.

If you haven't already, tailor the site the way you want it before the season starts. Makes for a much better season all the way around.

You suck! I'm putting you on "ignore"!

Not really ;)

I like the feature but what I hate is that often the person you have on ignore insists on continuing to respond, and it is hard always to ignore the post.

Never used it, never will. I don't need an ignore button to ignore people. If I did, I wouldn't have ever seen this thread.
In the infamous words of Detective Joe Kendall " You can't arrest somebody for being stupid. If that were the case, I'd have to fence of the entire state and place everybody under arrest."

But you see the post of someone you have in Ignore if someone responds to that, don't you? And is that response usually a threat to put them on Ignore?

I like the threats of Ignore for someone to get me to stop doing something, like calling Booger Booger. If I met the man, I would call him that, I've almost forgotten his real name. I've referred to him as that in conversations and then have to explain and if they weren't watching the opening of ATT, they'll never understand it.
Can't see posts of someone you on ignore...period

Ya,I knowo_O

it's kinda like those who are all brassy, brazen& bold in the "don't need no ignore button ,cuz' my superior casing-liner allows me to ignore them",Sez' they,,,yet, what it clearly illustrates to the entire viewing world is their mile-wide streak of chicken-$*** ,by running away from confronting a cyber encounter of which they'd be readily decapitated in,should they engage:lmao2:

Preach.

I was about ready to abandon this forum until I finally started blocking the people that were making this place a chore to visit.

No, what you see is just the responder to the ignored post, looking like a complete idiot ,talking about some left field B.S. ,,,that makes them look really kinda stupid,,,:lmao:

Me neither.

The ignore button is the internet version of a 5-year old pulling the blankets over their head.
I would say at times its almost the polar opposite of that.
Entire threads of the same children over and over calling each other names and having tantrums, when maybe it would make the experience a bit better to filter out that nonsense.
That's not being a 5 year old, that's being a grown-up
