It would make sense to dump Dak if this team was rebuilding. Conversations about not extending Dak when the team is this close to a SB is insane. The Cowboys will not roll the dice with Lance. Lance's starting job is in the USFL. MAYBE
Don't have to consider dumping Dak as a rebuild, everything has been rebuilt for him.
If Dak cannot handle what every other starting QB dreams about having surrounded around him built to him, then just eat the dead money and let Lance at least take advantage of the optimum situation.
Every QB in the league would love to have Daks playhouse.

I recall all the people who predicted a return to the Carter-Hutch-Henson dark days at QB to those who were done with Tony Romo and wanted to move on. Turns out we just got another Tony Romo level QB to step in and kept the status quo going.
Don't insult Tony Romo like that. Romo legend grew the moment we saw Garrett return to play-calling duties with the Giants. Daniel Jones went to throwing more INTs than TDs with Garrett and the RG was the absolute worst in the league until Judge, who wasn't a good coach himself, took over the RG supposedly after about 5 games in. Joe didn't even want him, as Mara forced to from the top. Dak under Garrett AS A PLAY CALLER would have been worse than Daniel Jones.

Rom with a route runner the calibre of Cooper, Zeke and this OL, with Gallup as a deep threat and Cobb out the slot, with Moore calling plays in his vertical threat offense, we'd most likely have been in playing in at least a few NFC championship games and 1 SB.

I think the bigger reason is he simply became available and there is really no connection to the timing of his acquisition.
yeah jerry just wanted a round one qb, thats it.
he did comment on finding romo as a udfa, and dak was a 4th rounder, and somehow jerry connects that to a 1st round bust ! lol
He does think that he just got the future franchise qb for cowboys, and he got him cheap!! So Jerry feels good and had to also brag
on himself and his style of gm, and validating himself being gm.

You can do those things when your a billionaire and answer to no one.

Lance already has two years of development with that genius HC in SanFran.

He just needs to learn our playbook and get reps with the 1s.

Give it about 8 weeks.

The kid is gifted with talent.

If they like where Lance is, no way they cut Dak another check for mega millions.
Trey Lance wasn't developed; he was thrown into the fire in the 4th game of his rookie season. This was after playing a total of 17 college games. He clearly wasn't ready.

I don't care if you don't like Dak...if THOSE are our two QB's next year, we may as well forfeit the season.

We do know Cooper Rush went 5-1 and he's crap...
Cooper Rush has to be better than we think, He won with the same team. The same crappy offensive line, nobody to throw to and Zeke running, and KM calling the plays.
He should have gotten the MVP for the Cowboys.
