Jerry does not hide what he is thinking very often. He comes straight out and tells you, if you listen. he was ust quoted as saying they see Dak as the qb for a very long time. They are working on an extension now.

He may have used Lance as leverage to try to keep Dak at a contract that is reasonable... meaning he aint getting Burrow, Hurts type money... but Dak isnt going anywhere anytime soon.

Yes, because Romo is old news and is not with the team. The only reason to bring Romo up is to deflect from the sucky job that Dak has done so far. Oh, and you say in the 49'er game he threw a couple of picks, yes, and those are the ones that lost the game. The defense held the 49'ers to low scoring, but then came hop along Dak to screw it up with just "a couple of picks".

It kinda looks like the Lance trade was an act of quiet desperation on Jerry's part.
Jerry doesn't want to extend Dak.
Jerry is hoping and praying that Lance can pickup the offense quickly and mature quickly. It could also be that Jerry is regretting not drafting a formidable young QB last few years to light a fire in Dak.
Jerry already has a proven backup in Rush.
Why would he bring in a young green kid?

Trey Lance will not supplant Dak unless injury. And even then the team will go with Rush until he shows he cannot lead a stacked team.

Who are the SB winning QB's you speak of Pat Mahomes and who????

To have any chance of winning a SB you need a QB that shows up when needed. We saw Hurts go toe to toe in the SB. Burrows has beaten the Chiefs and made it to a SB.
Stafford struggles but made plays to get his team a SB win. Josh Allen played one of the most spectacular games against the Chiefs a few years ago in the playoffs. Those guys haven't all won SBs but they have shown at some point the can play great against good teams. Several things they all have in common that Dak doesn't have is strong accurate arms and pedigree.

cowboys need to pick a QB from the next draft . Trey may not pan out . The most important position in the NFL has been ignored by jerry and has been based on dak and a back up ( rush) that no one wants. No one knows what trey can do . Failure at SF is not a good sign ,
