Post Season 0

That's pretty much how I saw his season. Started off great but towards the end of the season goose eggs.

Nick Eatman has said many times that Ware offered to take less money but the Cowboys just wanted to go in another direction. He definitely wanted to be here. We did fine without him though in my opinion.

Ware was a good player here, but lacked the mean streak and edge the defense played with at times. I think his presence makes the defense softer.

This defense lacked talent, but not effort. They emptied the bucket each week.

I feel the same way. Ware would have thrived here with the new rotation going on the Dline, but I like the fact that when players took cheap shots at the team, they didn't stand for it. If Ware was still here, I doubt he would have done anything when hayden took a cheap shot and might have even stopped his teammates from trying to jump in. This defense while not as talented with, Ware is a whole lot meaner.

That's simply not true. First Ware said, he would take a paycut, but then retracted and stated he would restructure. I think Elway might have tampered and given him assurances that he would get paid in Denver. I'm okay with that as Ware played hurt for this team and the team did not want to get in his way of getting paid. I'm just glad they didn't overpay Ware.

How could he have helped though?

Well being he started off hot early when we had zero pass rush, it may have made a difference in that Washington or AZ game. And even on a downward slide he still requires more attention then what we had at DE, so our rotation would be better. Who would you have rather had rushing Ware or Wilber?

True or not, I've heard Nick say that more then once. I believe he's much closer to the team and situation then both you and I. Just sayin!

He did the right thing, moving back to OLB. Had he stayed to play DE, I feel certain he'd have been injured.

He'd still be our best pass rusher, but he doesn't play the way Rod needs....and he just wasn't cut out to be a 4-3 DE in my opinion

He was a down lineman for Denver too.

Ware caught a slight case of "J.Ratliff-BOLI" in the last couple of years, because he wasn't "all in" for the Cowboys like he was for the Broncos.

I think Ware could have helped this rotation quite a bit. I think one of the biggest reasons we failed to be successful is that they would run Ware, Ratliff, and Spencer on so many plays rather than giving them chances to recover in non key plays.

Imagine if we only used Ware on 3rd downs this year. I've got a lot of regrets that the defense line never came to fruition like it could have. Ware, Spencer, Hatcher, Ratliff... Could have been the best line in football.

We'll be fortunate if we can afford to put together a defense while Romo is still capable. He is the only player I'll never get over not winning a super bowl.

I want to win with Witten, I wanted to win with Ware... hell a bunch of guys on this team, but no one deserves it more than Romo.

Had he stayed we very well might have won it all. He went to Denver for the money and a Super Bowl shot, had he taken less money he'd might still be playing and with the coaching staff gone and Manning's future in question we have a much better shot at getting a ring next year.

No... Just NO way he would have helped us beat Seattle. Gbay maybe... Not the Seahawks

Ware is good where he is - Denver. Three sacks over the second half of the season and none in the playoffs. M-O-N-E-Y-P-I-T

Way to miss the point.

This is not a we should have kept him thread, it is he could have helped us go farther and Denver is imploding as we speak and both teams finished 12-4 and got beat in the divisional round thread.

How could he have helped if the guy disappeared in Denver playing alongside Von Miller?

If anyone wants to argue or debate over how great of a Cowboy Ware was i'm down. But fact is....he faded as November came December and the post season came around.......while a lot of our guys like Mincey, Crawford and even Spencer got better as December and the post season came around. Could we have used him? It depends. Are we getting the most dominant pass rusher in the game or are we getting the one who hasn't showed up since November 23rd?

Ware in rotation with Spencer, Mincey, Selvie & Lawrence would have helped us. The problem is Ware wanted to get paid and play every down. If he was willing to take a pay cut and reduced playing time he would have been fresher down the stretch to the super bowl. A fresher Ware would have helped us against Flee Bay.

Maybe, the defense was bad with him too. But I do miss him bad. Love Ware.

2. I don't think Elway's done that great of a job. Anybody can sign Peyton manning. Manning hides their many flaws. If JJ overpaid Ware like Elway did, fallen pebble and the like would crucify him for it, Elway does it, and nobody bats an eye.

GB runner wouldve gone for 200+ if Ware were still here.

Melton is the guy we missed. We missed that big body.

Now Ware went to Denver for the money and a Superbowl. Let's just completely rewrite history.

I don't think we would have won with Ware, but let's not pretend the guy cut himself and then went to the highest bidder.

I think that moving to more of a full time 4-3 DE was too much for D-Ware physically and this season would have probably gone the same for him as it did in Denver.

I will always remember D-Ware fondly, but it was a good move by the Cowboys.
