I'm not sure it would be that easy. So how would that actually happen....would he say OK Julius, "after harping at you for the last 3 years to plow into the pile I want you to.....in that nanosecond you have to decide.....cut to daylight?" I'm not sure a RB can change their style that easily.

Julius needs to make it to the pile before he can slam into it. He's not even doing that most of the time.

If the runningback can't even make it to the pile, IMO, the fault is on the O-line.

So since we all agree that Jones has not been trying to bounce plays outside, I have to say much of the blame for those runs for zero and negative yardage must be on the o-line.

Some are, no doubt. At some points, our guard play has been awful. But most of the time it's 0 or -1 yards. You can't drop that on the Oline all the time. Sometimes you gotta make guys miss. On first downs, Barber averages nearly a yard more than Julius. Is the line just blocking better for him? Not from what I've seen.

Yeah, and Hambrick averaged over a yard better than Emmitt as his backup also. We know Hammy was a better back than Emmitt.

I'm just talking on their first down carries, when teams gear up for the run. We all know Hambone didn't get many first down carries behind Emmitt, and didn't play nearly as large a role as Barber does.

i don't think you can compare backs from bills past to prove anything now, different time. and i don't think you can pick out certain games to say i guy is bad.i think most feel mb3 is running better but unless you plan on him getting all the carries i don't get why people keep wanting to change the rb's. you want mb3 in there in the 4th qtr, short ydg, and goal line.so if you put him in for the other plays he would be playing all downs and i don't think bill is ever going to give one guy all the carries. it's working fine, why mess with it?
