Why? Why are they so cheap nowadays?

Has anyone discovered an actual reason for this? Is it all just Stephen just being the anti-Jerry?

I get that they already make huge profits so "winning" isn't a necessity... but wouldn't they WANT to win to build up their legacies? Considering they make huge profits regardless?

Rex Ryan says he turned down the DC job last year... because of the low salary offer.

Mike McCarthy is no longer the head coach because the sides "couldn't reach an agreement" (AKA Mike was getting low-balled).

We have spent NOTHING on outside free agents recently. This tweet says it all on that front.

What did we do to deserve this?

Why don't these jerks just sell the team for a record-breaking sum if they're no longer interested in building a championship team???

On the flip side they certainly don't mind overpaying their own players. The whole "we like our guys" strategy is killing this team. The mindset that they can't improve their situation with players around the league, the stupidity of that is unreal and to top it off the cap is still a mess? Stephen is a joke.

I feel like this has been a theme with the Joneses since Stephen started poking his nose around more in the personnel side of things. I remember during DeMarcus Lawrence negotiations that he and his agent were heated and ready to move on because of how cheap and unreasonable Stephen was being. If memory serves me, it took Lawrence getting Jerry on the phone to finish that extension.

It's probably been a poorly kept secret this entire time, but I imagine the digital age is finally catching up with Cowboys operations and this information is just more visible now.

I believe I heard that Zimm was paid 4 million last season to be the DC, so I wouldn’t necessarily say that was cheap. Not sure what they offered Rex, but would love him to come as DC for Schotty

Sidenote:

This is why it was always so stupid to blame "DAK'S CONTRACT" for our "inability" to participate in free agency.

Don't let the Jones boys off the hook like that.

Philly paid their QB too, and look how aggressive they are. Look how many studs they're paying on the offensive side of the ball.

This is actually the exact reason why you dont lock up a top money QB. If they already wont spend the money to put together a complete team it makes no sense to take on a QB contract like this. Not saying its Daks fault there, its 100% on Jerry/Stephen, but the Cowboys need to be operating like a smaller market franchise if ownership refuses to sell assets to have the cash on hand to fund the team.

Other owners are using their investments to fund their teams.....The Jones boys use the Cowboys to fund their investments.
They did for sure, now its just another huge money making busines they own..Brian B. said the other day that calling the Jones lazy is incorrect, saying they do not have the time to be a real NFL FO would be spot on...12 business meeting a day with only 1 scheduled for the Cowboys business was regular when he was there.

I think they paid Dak and CeeDee in order to "stay relevant."

There was never any thought about, "Now how do we surround those guys with more studs so we can compete for Super Bowls?"
