The Kiwanuka "non-sack"

no single player can be totally blamed for a loss, you could also say manning lost it with his INT

Thats so cliche and popular to say in defense of someone but come on............if he just tackles Young.....GAME OVER.

I finally just saw it on NBC, and that was just pure stupidity. My god, what a friggin ******. PLAY UNTIL THE WHISTLE!

And get called for roughing had Young thrown instead of pulling it back in?

The defensive players are in a no-win situation.

if Vince doesn't get rid of the ball while Mathias is on him, it's perfectly legal to throw him to the ground

And if Kiwi would have been called for roughing the passer it would have been a stupid play too.

The league is going to have to do something about this, pronto.

No one with a brain can argue that the players are not getting worried about hitting the QB and getting a flag. Its happening every Sunday now. The NFL has gotten so STUPID about this that the players are afraid to hit a QB at all now- and the way the officials are calling the games they are right.

If Kiwi slams him into the ground after the ref has ruled in the grasp, its roughing. What constitutes in the grasp is completely arbitrary and undefined.

but there was no whistle, and Vince has possession of the ball, it's fair game

I thought the point was that Mathias thought Vince had gotten rid of the ball?

but guys, I agree that the NFl is getting ticky-tacky w/ rules on QBs, but it's never seemed to affect players

just like ROy said he would continue to horse-collar people

just saw the play a couple minutes ago and man what a boneheaded play!!!! dont blame coughlin for goin crazy

i feel sorry for kiwi, he's a smart nice guy just like most of the cowboys and was using his brain instead of being a neatherthal, unfortunately sometimes you gotta just go with your gut.

it's like polite vs hoyte or ware vs steroidman

then on top of it the coach cusses you out, when he needs to be propping you up. i didn't see coughlin cuss out eli. i'd like to think BP would be different, but he wouldn't

Yes, Coughlin should have baked him cookies for blowing the game instead of tearing into him for a moment of pure game-ruining stupidity.

hey, if you want to just give up at that point fine, but they still had to score a td and get an int.

coughlin did what TO would do...

Have you ever played football before? You seem like the type that would burst into tears the second a coach tryed to yell at you for blowing an assignment.

Obviously it was a bad play by Kiwi, and that he made a horrible, game-affecting mistake... I don't think anyone is arguing that point.

My point is that it was a mistake that was heavily influenced by the wussified roughing rules that are being called today. I don't think that can be denied either.

Its clear more and more players are worried about getting flagged/fined - the thinking ones anyway. The neanderthal types like Taylor and company never think at all.
