The lack of pressure is disturbing

Maybe a team Like Denver, that is stacked defensively but shallow on the OL.
Probably the only team capable of making a Leary trade consider worthy.

And then it would need to be a DE IMO...

Personally I think the DT group in Dallas has the potential of being pretty good.

And after Ware and Miller does Denver have a DE worth giving up Leary for?

They ran a lot of corner blitzes in the game, as well as just rushing 4. Even with Demarcus Lawrence and Mayowa out there, the pass rush was non-existent. I think it's finally time to hit the panic button here. Shaniel Jenkins came off the street and was an instant upgrade, and he is gone. I don't have any faith in Mawoya, Russell, Irving, or any of these other scrubs to generate any pressure.

That's how I look at it.. all those guys are scrubs. We're in trouble, everyone knows this.

I would give up Leary and a pick for Shane Ray right now. You know that other rookie that was drafted ahead of Gregory for the same damn issues smoking pot. Only Ray is a freaking beast and Gregory is a clown.

I think we're gonna be a bend don't break D because they can't let the game get away with a rookie QB at the helm. And those types of defenses are tough on the fans.

Dallas suffered from duplicitous thinking defensively in 2015.. They played totally conservative, while expecting to generate TOs to help them win the game.

Dekoda watson....lol

wade put him at olb and he has been getting pressure.

We could trade leary for him and then make him a special team only player again and if we make the playoffs he can get a running into the kicker for us to extend the other teams drive......

quality trade.

That may be because most people here don't know what a pass rush is. They think a sack is the only indication of a pass rush...and it is not. Many were upset when Wilson ran circles around our dline; while I wished they had got the sack glad to see our pass rush forced him into running in circles in the first place.

Unfortunately you are going to be shouted down about certain players still rounding into shape and that you are crying wolf prematurely. Facts are the Cowboys are gambling that a third string player is going to transform into a first string player overnight, that a player who put up 8 sacks last season is going to do the same or better without a premiere pass rusher opposite him giving him one on one opportunities, that a 3rd round and 4th round rookies are going to magically become better players than they were in college THIS season and deserve a rotation spot, that a 3-4 DE/4-3 LDE is going to become more instinctive and explosive as a 4-3 RDE when he has shown nothing in preseason thus far, counting on the 1 tech (McClain or Thornton) to improve sack totals or that an oft injured DT is going to be able to stay the course the entire season and become the 3tech catalyst that a Marinelli 4-3 absolutely requires for system to even have a chance.

ONE of these things might happen, SOME of these things could happen to a certain degree of success but to have the entire season's D success hinge on ALL of these things is preposterous. Cowboys need to trade for a true pass rushing pivot or edge player right now. Neither the secondary or the LB corps is good enough to support the inexperience and all the "ifs" on the DL.

i don't think this FO puts much emphasis on defense (particularly the d-line) as seen through their drafting and free agency activity (or lack thereof).
16 of last 26 players drafted were on defense not counting 2 picks to get DLaw.

7 of those picks were DL's meaning 27% of our last 3 drafts have been DL.

That not counting the FA's they have signed also.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the FO.....

I think it's far easier to post about than it is to accomplish.

If it were that easy the sad-sack pass rushes around the NFL would have sorted it out a long time ago.
Exactly, same as last few years......try getting off the field on 3rd down. Unfortunately, they chose the wrong Russian Roulette last year, more often than I want to remember.

The regular season hasn't started yet. There's still time for them to work on things and as long as they keep opposing offenses from scoring as much as the Cowboys during games, they're doing what they were trained to do. It's not time to cry "MAYDAY" yet.

The lack of a pass rush is not as disturbing as much as the lack of failing to address it.....

Our pass rush has been an issue for years, the last time we had a good pass rush was when the Demarcus Ware was in his prime.

The time for hoping someone steps up is over. The hand with the crap is about to fill up. No one is going to make a huge stride between now and week 1.

This is what I was worried about. Granted we have to wait to see but I'm not happy with our dl.

Essentially this was our offseason plan at DE...........
