That was Jimmy. Please be better.
Your problem is you keep trying to give just Jimmy credit for the 90s and you need to get off that box that soapbox is worn out and old Jerry had every bit to do with all the moves and trades and the team building and the money he was involved in everything yes Jimmy Johnson was a critical part of that team but he didn't make all the decisions by himself he didn't do this by himself you wanna know why he goes to Miami Dolphins and doesn't do squat and then bowls out like he would have anyway... The Dallas Cowboys entire front office team coaching all that in the 90s they hit a wave and they took off and it took the entire group all of them made these decisions Jimmy didn't do this by himself he had scouts he had assistant coaches yes he had his owners and all that other stuff that all consulted each other to make these decisions.. But I already told you mine this year Gilmore and cooks great trades Terrell Owens in my opinion was a very good move you may not like it but I think it's a better move than this we're talking about a third string project here and also Mari Cooper a better move than the Trey Lance move it turned our season around it might be the top trade move in the last decade or two amari Cooper helped us go from three and five to 10 and six and get to the second round of the playoffs..

Not necessarily. I don't know too many around the league who don't think this was "glory-holing" per se. I think this was a reasonable "plunge" on a high talent, high character guy. The only question is can he put it together. If Dak gets hurt - and I think he will from trying too hard - and Lance comes in and wins games...

it's not that far-fetched.
Pressure isn't the man...men are forged by the challenge. Prescott stands on his own two feet quite well...not hollistic undertones.

Jerry doesn’t get credit for the Jimmy deals. Sorry. Since 1996 he has been involved with some of the dumbest moves a GM can make. This was a brilliant low risk trade. It was a great move. Sorry you disagree.
Actually he does 100% the scouting team the coaching staff everybody who was part of the Dallas Cowboys in the 90s gets credit for any of the moves good or bad that were made and I hate to break it to you that's how it works Jimmy didn't do anything without Jerry's approval that became very evident after Jimmy left there was no way that Jerry wasn't the same back then he was the same the difference is no social media no heavy saturation of media 24/7 365 that smells every fart that goes on up there at the star and uses the Dallas Cowboys as clickbait so now it seems all different but it's not different

It's about as far fetched as you playing quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys that's right I'm calling you out because you're ridiculous you're forgetting two things one Trey Lance has no training camp with the Cowboys and no practices they're about to start preparing for game 1QB1 Prescott QB 2 rush give me three will not see the field unless both those players are hurt for the entire season book that and if he does see the field tray Lance is gonna be a gadget player he will be a Wildcat he will be at the goal line he's gonna be the scout team practice guy you're so overrating the guy is ridiculous so why don't you go somewhere and use this logic with like the ladies at the nail salon who don't understand sports because you're not selling this crud to anybody who knows anything about sports..

Picked up a cheap 23 year old, high ceiling QB prospect for a 4th rounder. Huge asymmetry on this one boys and girls.

Best Jerry trade of all time. Prove me wrong.
One of the worst of all times. They’re poised for a SB run and what does the team need? Not a QB. It needs offensive line depth and THAT’s what they should’ve traded for. Instead, they sign a guy that has no chance of contributing for at least 2 years and who’s going to take a roster spot away from the depth they’ve acquired.

Not only that, but the 9’ers gave up 3 1st round picks for this guy and threw the entire organization at him to try and develop him. After 3 years, he can’t even beat out another bust in Darnold. And the yahoos here think he’s going to come in and take over the QB position at the first chance.

They fleeced a guy that was the 3rd player taken 2 years ago. The team that traded up to grab him at 3 gave up 3 first rounders. Guy missed a key year of development due to Covid. 23. All for a 4th rounder. Lance has no impact on other roster decisions.

You keep harping on “he was the 3rd pick” yet he’s sucked ever since. You’re looking silly.

He’s taking a roster spot McFly. HUGE impact on other roster decisions. Now you’re just being silly.

ok the only other times Jerry has acquired a qb who came on the cheap but had potential for big upside was Steve Walsh, Chad Hutchinson and Drew Henson

0 for 3

9ers were shocked they got a 4th. JJ negotiated against himself

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...prised-to-get-a-fourth-rounder-for-trey-lance

The 49ers traded three first-round picks and a third-rounder to the Dolphins in 2021 to move up to select Trey Lance with the No. 3 overall pick. While shopping the quarterback two years later, the 49ers expected to get little in return.

None of the early offers the 49ers received for Lance included a fourth-round pick.

It wasn’t anywhere close,” General Manager John Lynch said, via Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Then, the Cowboys called, and owner Jerry Jones said they wanted Lance so badly they weren’t hanging up the phone. The fourth-rounder Dallas offered San Francisco was a “little better than we anticipated,” coach Kyle Shanahan said.

Departure from the 49ers

Owens was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers[1] in the 3rd Round of the 1996 NFL Draft. This united Owens with Jerry Rice.
Owens later emerged as the #1 threat in San Francisco.

Philadelphia Eagles

After a spat with some 49ers front office members, Owens and the team decided to part ways after the 2003 season. Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb wanted Owens to be an Eagle, as did many Eagles fans. Owens was actually traded to the Baltimore Ravens, but Owens challenged the 49ers' right to make the trade and made it clear he did not want to go to Baltimore. Owens eventually won the case, and was sent to the Philadelphia Eagles after the Ravens, 49ers, and Eagles agreed to a rare 3-team trade.

Dallas Cowboys

Owens signed a three-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys in 2006. Owens (and star QB Tony Romo) enjoyed a good three years.

He was released after his 3 year contract.

He still produced with Buffalo and Cincinnati.

None of that matters that's the past this is the now and he has a future here and he gets to reboot there have been plenty of players that including quarterbacks that have left teams and down the road they developed guy like Gino Smith but maybe we can turn Trey Lance quicker so don't try to take me to your side I'm telling you how I feel he's a #3 quarterback for now and he has potential and they will try to develop his potential they did not throw everything at him I don't think he got a fair shot over there but I really don't care to debate it it's in the past...

So stop trying to force your opinion and what you think you know that I don't know I know all the history This is why teams need to stop being stupid in the top ten picking quarterbacks who are not worth top ten picks this some of these dudes should have been picked in the third or fourth round like Prescott these dudes are not better than Prescott..

you missed the point this is not a high risk waste of a draft pick I'm sorry you could have bus from rounds one through 7 you can have hits in round one through 7 we have them all over so I'm tired of hearing it it's not a high risk it's not a big deal let's get over it let's get past it... We get it you don't like anything that's Ron washington's way which by the way you should have picked a better name because all I remember is a coke snorting Texas Rangers coach....

You are an absolute troll .
