The Lance trade was the best Jerry move of all time

It is not a blockbuster trade, but Dak needs more pressure and this is a break season for him, if it fizzles out below expectations then we may conclude that a so so QB for big money will be worth replacing with a so so QB for small money, the Cap can go to other areas for the time being until big deal QB comes along. That could be Dak this year, but I feel it is last chance Saloon for Dak is this year and operation replacement will be underway if he doesn't blow people off the field on 3rd down.

Picked up a cheap 23 year old, high ceiling QB prospect for a 4th rounder. Huge asymmetry on this one boys and girls.

Best Jerry trade of all time. Prove me wrong.
Come on. No one knows how this will work out yet. This is a smart, low-risk, potentially high reward move, but best ever? Ridiculous. That would mean it's even smarter than Jones hiring Jimmy Johnson. Lance MIGHT develop into a top-tier QB who replaces Dak. If so, this trade is a bonanza, but I still wouldn't rank it in front of the Herschel Walker trade. Lance might be a solid and reliable backup, but never progress past that. If so, it was still worth it. Or he might bust, in which case, we've only lost out on a 4th rounder (and not three first rounders like the 9ers lost).

Jerry doesn’t get credit for the Jimmy deals. Sorry. Since 1996 he has been involved with some of the dumbest moves a GM can make. This was a brilliant low risk trade. It was a great move. Sorry you disagree.

And by the way,

anybody that has an issue with Jerry not consulting McCarthy or Prescott needs to take a chill pill...

listen to the entire story he got the phone call from San Francisco, they had a long conversation and while on the phone, they made the deal because he was afraid if he left the phone hang up and then go consulting people, the deal would have been made with the other three to four teams who were interested in Lance.
so he decided to take it upon himself as the owner and GM to go ahead and make a decision on a third string quarterback. Why is that a problem?? this doesn't affect the roster at all and if Prescott's ego is dinged do you remember back when Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett got on the New England sidelines and they didn't consult Tom Brady and I guarantee you they didn't have long talks with Bill Belichick or Bill Belichick with Brady because there was a big to do over there.. I remember this has happened before with other quarterbacks, you do not need to talk to your quarterback.
Now I can see why if this guy was going to be important to the team, you would need to talk to McCarthy about it your head coach, but this is the third string quarterback that doesn't really affect the roster this season..

We literally have Prescott and Cooper rush as the number one and #2, it would have been will Greer or Trey Lance and I really don't see the difference.

So people are making a mountain out of a molehill as usual because they don't like Jerry and they think Jerry just bullies!
people he was on the phone and decided not to let the opportunity go, so he made the deal all in the same phone call which by the way he didn't make the call the call was made to him,
he was interested and he went ahead and got it done without hanging up the phone.. If this is another situation I guarantee he would have talked to McCarthy or Prescott or both because that's what he's always done he has loyalty to his players and coaches and he typically does consult people but this was a different situation and it had no true effect on this year's roster.

Facts!

now to your point whether it was the best trade he's ever made I don't know about that but at least he's making the trade because people been wanting him to grab another quarterback in the offseason in the draft and this is basically the same thing..

No I think bringing over Terrell Owens and amari Cooper were some of the better deals also add in the fact this year he got Gilmore and cooks and very good trade value. So, this will have to take a back seat to those but it's very nice move with very little risk I'll give you that...

4th rounders ….Dak Ferguson Schultz Pollard Armstrong Biadasz ….a real live player can be had round 4 . John Lynch is beaming . He pictures getting another smothering defensive player next draft round 4 to unleash on Dallas .
And,

yet there's also busts in all rounds, especially the fact that this guy was given three first round picks to acquire him the first time that lakes the fourth-round pick not so bad..

If you wanna go and check all the second and third round picks and some of the other picks that didn't work out, especially in the second round then you're going to find out that you can find good picks or bad picks anywhere in the draft.

so saying that we gave up too much As for a fourth rounder, it's not a big deal the fact is we're picking so low, typically that it's almost a fifth rounder if we have a good season this year..

The team interactions were not seen by you for Jimmy...no, at the time of the big trade, Jimmy was listening to quite a few voices and not fully up on many of his own targets for acquiring. Even the Oakland owner was providing significant imput for a long period, to both Jimmy and Jerry. I don't listen to folklore, myself.

Jimmy got it done, but the work was not all his.

Jimmy gets the credit. A well know talent evaluator. Jerry was a drunken oil guy that just bought a football team.

But Dallas has found some players round 4. Dak going on yr 9 one of them . The most I would have sent was a 5 . SF hands were tied they made it clear Lance was QB 3

My point is that you’re getting all hyped about a 3-5 year development player. If he ever does. Shanahan thinks he won’t.
Who’s getting hyped up. You’re the one a little bit out of control. I’m just saying it’s not a bad thing and it isn’t. Shanahan shanahan still wants him. There is Super Bowl ready team. They don’t have the patience for him to develop. What’s your problem?
