The Dolphins, Bengals, Cowboys, Chiefs, Broncos, Seahawks, and Raiders are said to have shown interest. Wow. That's seven teams willing to give Harrington another chance.

Uh...we traded away a 3rd for Henson.

Harrington is worth more than Henson.

what games have you been watching?

memo to you, he has no value because everyone knows he's gonna get cut by June 15th anyway...unless somebody intends to make him a starter THIS yr, its unlikely IMO they'll get anything other than a late rd pick or a pick in the mid rounds next yr for him

Or he could be a Steve Young. Well, his stats are better than Young's over the first four years at least.

he wont ever be Steve Young because he doesnt have Young's passing ability or athletic skills as a runner

THE GRYPHON

Without reading the rest of the posts inthisthread I would have to say emphatically HELL NO!!!! I could see a 6th or 7th with a conditional 2007 pick since Harrington is a career backup at best. I would much rather go with what we have and try to develop them instead.

DON'T DO IT JERRAH!!!!

I keep reading these Harrington threads and the idea that we might well flush a 1st day pick on him is very depressing.

The same could be said about Steven Young after his first four years.

not if you watched him it wouldnt

there's no comparison between the pure passing ability Steve Young had and what Joey Harrington's is now...none

If the cowboys can swing this, it will be a 3-way trade with Romo going to NO , Harrington coming to Dallas and Detroit recieving a 3rd round pick from NO. I would be all for that happening.

I watched Harrington in College and he has the skills, he played with a terrible team in Detroit and then never had a chance to gain his confidence once Mooch came in. I think he would be a great fit behind bledsoe.

In that case I have great news! It simply isn't going to happen. Don't worry, be happy!

Don't be so sure....if Jerry has his eye on Harrington, anything is possible. He did shell out quite a bit for the TO show. ;)

An objective question about Harrington to Cowboys fans:
I lived in Michigan from 1998-2003.
I have seen what the Lions organization can do to a player.
When you are surrounded by a culture of losing, losing becomes your style.
I have seen Harrington when he was in Oregon,Bowl games and with Detroit.
His first start as a Lion was a loss to Green Baywhen his "receiver",Mickael Ricks dropped a sure fire TD as time expired back in 2002.
Detroit had at the time the brick hand services of Ricks,Az-Hakim and Bill Shroeder as the receiver corps.
They led the league in DROPPED PASSES.
Next year, they added Charles Rogers....do I need to elaborate on this underachiever?
In 2004,they added Roy "counterfeit" Williams.
See Charles Rogers, and add more injuries.
To make the long story short,Detroit ruined Harrington.
This is the same organization that saw Barry Sansers quit on them and fly to England!
I'd give Harrington a second chance. The talent is there.
He is DEFINITELY better than what we have after Bledsoe.
More proven than Henson and Romo.
We gave a 3rd for Henson.
Think about it.

1. McNair has no upside AT ALL other than a 1-2 year backup. He won't do that. Harrington on the other hand is young and could be a possible long-term starter.
2. Give up on Henson. It's either he lights it up in NFLE or he's out.
Right now I would rather have Henson than McNair or Harrington.

I think he presents some valid points. But to give up a day one pick is pushing it.

Well I'm sure you are more qualified than I to talk about Joey. I haven't seen much of him at all outside of when the Boys have played Detroit.

Since we have 2 backups where 1...never has thrown and NFL pass and 2...has limitted playing time. I wouldn't mind checking him out.

Since I don't see Bledsoe as our future and this is his last year here. Are you thinking Joey as a backup or potentail future starter for us ?
