The lynchpin for me has always been Tyron Smith

I just didnt think it would happen this early. This season just went in the toilet, like it did last year when he went down. And Jerry has no one to blame but himself.

Another year wasted. The Eagles have to be the favorite to win the east now.

We HAVE to move on from Tyron Smith. Another Olineman has to be the #1 priority in the offseason.

The Eagles may win the division. But to me, they're like a team that lost their starting QB. Because Hurts is no better than a backup.

As far as the Cowboys go, I think we'll be in good position to draft a nice offensive lineman next year. Even though people will be talking about which WR we'll be drafting.

It's ALWAYS something. This one was obvious to pretty much everyone. The FO office basically did NOTHING to address his backup (specifically a good swing tackle). They are counting on their "smarts" of drafting guys. After all, they can't be wrong. Look how much success they've had the last 1/4 of a century. Who are we to question their methods?!

Well they have in their own minds with Smith and Waletzko, and Ball the year before.

They think they have a stud in Steele.

I'm not saying it was the right call, I'm saying these guys take longer to develop than they have accounted for...and that's where draft only to improve hurts. You've got guys you don't want to cut, but aren't ready to play either.

Exactly...........other than Smith, they didnt properly address anything.

Thats garbage. I dont like him as a passer, but he can use his legs as well as any running QB and its effective.

Jerry just makes one or two huge obvious blunders EVERY year that even the most casual fan can see. The guy is complete moron.

Honestly they just bank on too much going right.

If there's a glaring weakness or two, the staff can never seem to scheme around it, and our opponents typically exploit it.

Then they spend the next offseason trying to fix that through the draft, meanwhile other problems arise.

That's where they fail. They need to know when they are 2-3 players short and go for it, rather than wait for the next two drafts to find those players.

Its really maddening at times.

The FO is always about 3 steps behind. In years past we never had decent DT’s but an amazing Oline. Now we have like 15 DLineman and a horrible Oline. They just suck at this sport.

If the loss of one player is enough to destroy the whole offense, the offense wasn't that good to begin with.

When there is 3+ years of stats that say if you lose X player your stats = Y, you'd think it is time for the people who write the checks that a light bulb would turn on over their heads but NO GO in 8 Billion $ Jerry-land... it's really perplexing and pretty much EVERYONE was right when they said "might want to have a backup plan for Tyron". It's like seeing a dying plant and knowing it needs to go on the prayer list. Not rocket science at all.

I have pretty consistently said they should be looking for a veteran tackle for swing. Nothing any of our backups have shown make me think they are ready if called on and certainly not as a starter at this point.

Based on what McCarthy said, that right now McGovern is ahead of Smith, then you should put Smith at LT because he is better than any of the others and it really isn't close. That leaves Farniok as game day reserve at both G and C positions with most likely Ball as the backup tackle. I think the whole idea of moving Steele to LT and Martin to RT and McGovern to RG is just too much movement. You want the least movement as possible, and Smith has played tackle in college.

I would definitely prefer to see them get Fisher or Whitworth or even Peters rather than stand pat and go with next man up.

When Dak gets knocked out with no blindside protection , then it will be officially over.

How could we have not planned for this?

You said a lot of good things there but much of it doesn't bode well for a good season. Just juggling parts.

Lad, you did not think this before with an already shaky O line, untested WRs corps, a broken down Zeke and an erratic QB with 1 playoff win in 3 tries?

I’d sure as hell hate to be in a foxhole with any of you wussies. Why don’t you just curl up into the fetal position and suck your thumbs.
