The lynchpin for me has always been Tyron Smith

You said a lot of good things there but much of it doesn't bode well for a good season. Just juggling parts.

I agree. Could also consider moving Martin to LT, I think he would be better there than Steele was. Smith at LG and McGovern at RG which has supposedly been his best position. Still a lot of juggling.

I just didnt think it would happen this early. This season just went in the toilet, like it did last year when he went down. And Jerry has no one to blame but himself.

Another year wasted. The Eagles have to be the favorite to win the east now.

We HAVE to move on from Tyron Smith. Another Olineman has to be the #1 priority in the offseason.

His name is Issac Alarcon.

Neither do we. When your Oline cant block, you have no run game because they cant block, the ability for your QB to function goes down the toilet.
Run blocking won’t be the issue when Tyron is out. The pass blocking is the one that’s going to be a issue.

Either way - as a fan I'd be happy if they choose NOT to forfeit all the games this year. Let's still play them just to see what happens.
I don’t know where these losers came from but it’s sickening. At least let them fail first before calling it. I just never understood the point of predicting losses…why? It makes no sense.

You mean the guy that has come in at the very end of the preseason games meaning hes 4th on the depth chart?

He dominated the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th string players while Ball & Waletsko where getting dominated by 4th stringers.

Honestly they just bank on too much going right.

If there's a glaring weakness or two, the staff can never seem to scheme around it, and our opponents typically exploit it.

Then they spend the next offseason trying to fix that through the draft, meanwhile other problems arise.

That's where they fail. They need to know when they are 2-3 players short and go for it, rather than wait for the next two drafts to find those players.

Its really maddening at times.
He’s a moron. Love the youth movement thing but don’t take it too far. Don’t be dumb about it.

As much as I have complained that the Cowboys needed to draft Tyron Smith's replacement every year for the past 3 or 4 years, the fact is the best chance they had to get a left tackle was the year they took Parsons instead of Slater. If they took Slater, we would be complaining about the lack of a pass rush and how porous the defense is probably.

But one thing I am pretty certain of, to get a NFL ready OT to replace Tyron Smith they will need to draft in the top 10 or so. We'll see how this year goes but they may have to trade to get a pick that high. I hate it but it may mean giving up a couple of #1s. This is why giving away players for no draft picks or low draft picks is a loser deal.

Bless you sir.

The difference between what you need \ want to do versus what you can actually accomplish with the available resources is .... reality. For everything you could have done differently, there would be a domino effect. As you said, who would want to give up Parsons for anyone? Yet that is exactly the type trade offs that would have had to been made.

Exactly right. They take it just a little too far to a serious fault.

I truly don't mind being sensible with cap management. It's the right thing to do, but then they give a guy like Armstrong 13 million.

I'm not even saying go "all in," but one or two higher end FA signings would go a long way toward getting us over the hump, but they apparently don't see it that way, and they refuse to learn or change despite repeated failure.

Id wager quite a bit that the biggest need in the coming offseason is OL....but they won't even bother with free agents.....they will figure the draft will fix it. Leaves you with a handful of dudes not ready to play.

You just never know. Dak wasn’t ready to play as a rookie in 2016 and all he did when forced to start due to injuries was have one of the best rookie seasons for a QB in NFL history. Let’s see how it goes before declaring it a lost season. Maybe someone steps up and plays very well.
