Unlike the 2007 squad, the 2014 Dallas Cowboys do not have any "me" players.

Where are the distractions? The headlines? T.O.? Crayton? The loud mouth players that don't produce on the field? Heck, where's Jessica Simpson? You won't see it with the 2014 Cowboys. They just bring their lunch pales and go to work. They're physical, tough, relentless and resilient. You know exactly what they're going to do on a weekly basis...and you still won't be able to stop them.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a true contender on our hands.

You know...I like this team better than that 2007 team, but they were contenders, as well. We just got nipped by a team that was also obviously a contender.

Any given season in the NFL there are 4-5 teams capable of winning it all on any given day. It's a play here and there, or a bounce of the ball, or the layout of a playoff bracket that determines which one it is. But I think that 2007 team, prima donnas and all, were capable of contending for the Championship.

Romo...has learned not to take unnecessary sacks, as in the 2007 Divisional. Garrett...looks to have finally acquiesced to a running first philosophy. The o-line is better this year but the margins of victory were larger in 2007, at least so far. In 2007, some games would just explode offensively...out of nowhere. A very enjoyable season it was...2009 wasn't bad either.

The 2007 cowboys were a better team.

But this team seems...

1. Better coaches
2. More humble
3. Better player leadership BECAUSE of years like 2007-- the vets that were there are salty, unsatisfied warriors now.
4. Better in the face of adversity.

Terrence Williams > Patrick Crayton

also

Murray > Barber

We have better offensive weapons all around this year. Beasly, Harris, Escobar, Witten, etc. Also, Dez is in his prime right now, while TO was getting a bit old.

You know, scratch all that... let's just leave it at T. Will > Crayton.

I don't know how to explain it, but I trust this team more than the 2007 team even if this team ends up having a worse record.

I had a feeling the 2007 team was going to lose to the Giants in the playoffs, but with this team I have complete confidence in them even though they obviously will probably lose a couple of more games at least.

After four years of him being a literal clown, I won't say this about Garrett. Him losing influence to Callahan and Marinelli is what has caused this turn around

That's why I said "may". Wade was never competent. He came in when Parcells laid the foundation and took a very talented team to where they needed to go. As well as his style was the opposite of Parcells' and the players liked that, as Parcell's act was growing tiredsome.

Garrett seems to be better once he gave up the play calling and OC duties to someone else.

Let's just wait and see if Romo and Witten goes to Cabo if we make the playoffs and a bye.

On a serious note, 2007 team had more talent but this team is playing more like a "team". 2007 team knew they were good and so did the media and I think it went to their heads a bit.

Nobody was giving this team a chance, so they are playing with little chip on their shoulders. They have the "it's us against the world" mentality.

I don't know about any "me" players but I think the culture the Cowboys and Garrett have made around here...its more of the overachiever and more of the just shut up and play types. I think Scandrick has a little bit of that in him but he's the type to show it on the field and talk after the game. Its a different make up.

I don't think that 2007 team failed because of the personnel. It just underachieved because of the culture around here. Just content with that. They were a 13 win team and they were suppose to win.

To me the main difference between this team and 2007 is that this team can travel anywhere and win. The 2007 team was more spectacular and more of a big play offense, but this team will grind you into the ground. Put a bunch of guys in the box and you will get burned outside. The 2007 team was very good, but they were one dimensional. This team is much more of a headache for defensive coordinators to figure out who you want tostop. And no Prima Donnas on this team. Nobody whining about Jason Witten getting too many passes.

So helping build a competent staff and learning how to effectively delegate is losing influence? Brilliant.

I don't understand it man lol. People will do or say whatever it takes in order for Garrett to not get any credit for this. Its not even that he deserves sole credit. Its a collective effort. But its like everyone acts as if the Cowboys or Garrett are the only team with a Head coach and assistant coaches lol. Like Bellicheat doesn't have a staff around him. Like Parcells didn't. Bill Parcells had arguably one of the best coaching staffs around him at his time here.

I was as hard as anybody on Garret. I wanted him fired after last year. But I have no trouble giving him his props this year. He is as responsible as anybody for this teams success so far. Hopefully he can keep the players grounded and focused and he can keep this thing going.
