Dallas goes down to the Celtics 94- 90.

They have lost consecutive games at home to the Lakers and now Boston.

:beatit:

Ray Allen hoists a 3 on your team late in game - say rut roh

I know. Darn them for losing back-to-back to the current #1 teams of both conferences.

Hey, I'm not saying problems and concerns don't exist, and you can check out my post history on my thoughts on the Jason Kidd deal, but the Mavs suck because they lost close games to the Lakers and Celtics?

5 or 6 teams could win the West this year, and the Mavs are one of them.

I feel the mavs suck because they continue to make the same mistakes at the end of games without correcting them (iso's, defensive matchups).

For example, there was a key stretch in the middle of the game where Avery put Lue to guard Posey and George to guard Cassell. The celtics just kept giving the ball to posey who had the huge size mismatch, and they kept getting easy baskets. Avery didn't seem to change it.

I seriously wonder if Avery has seen how other team's offenses work.

But you better have a three page report on kavorka's desk on what those teams are and why.

Celtics see dead West Teams

But thats a dirty lil lie! maybe we can sweep that away.

The victors get to rewrite the history books. Memo to those with "authority" and thoughts on the American Constitution.

and 0-7 vs all good teams

I love the Mavs but come on man this team deserves no excuses at this point

They need to show some guts

Look at the bright side. They are still better than my Grizzlies and the Heat. :laugh2:

Since the Kidd trade. Despite that they are still 26-13 against the Western Conference, which was the best record in the West until they lost to the Lakers the other night.

I'm not making excuses. I'm simply trying to inject some realism into this discussion, rather than the 'Mavs suck, Mavs suck!' call. They were playing very well in February and March last year. How did that work out?

People wanted them to fly under the radar this season, which is what they're doing, yet fans can't be happy either way. If they had won a bunch of games, you'd complain 'well, let's see what they do in the playoffs!' If they are stuck in the pack in a very competitive WC playoff race, well then, I guess they suck.

All I care about is how they're playing one month from now. Obviously if they're still struggling to beat upper echelon teams in the Western Conference in April I will be worried, but they still have a month to turn things around. Sorry, but I'm not throwing in the towel when we still have a month to go in the regular season.

Flying under the Radar is one thing.

Not beating a good team is another.

Lets be real.

If they get to the playoffs and do some damage then your right.

IMO they are going to be one and done playing like this.

I think it all comes down to matchups, so you could be right.

The fact LA cant guard a point guard for nothing and Jason Kidd hasn't been effective against them yet scares me.

I think as long as we have kid we are a 4 against 5 team.

I think the Mavs will end up being a 6 or 7 seed depending on how the Rockets finish down the stretch. The Lakers should finish with the #1 seed, especially once Gasol comes back.

That means the Mavs will most likely face the Hornets or Spurs, with an outside shot that the Jazz work their way up to a #3 seed. Considering how bad the Mavs have been on the road this year, I'm not sure who I would want to play out of that group. I suppose the Hornets, based on inexperience, but they have played very well this year and would have homecourt.
