But then they passed up solid LG talent in the second and third rounds, too.
It boils down to the same swing tackle anxiety we have had for the past 5 years. That and people are not really thinking things though.

Farniok does not suck. Is he as good as Avila? No, but he has come in and played well when McGovern and Biadasz have gone down. I thought McGovern and him were a wash in terms of production two years ago.

Then you have Waletzko and people can think what they want to think about the club's ability to evaluate OL but indications are they like his progress. But even if he sucks then you slide the current LG out wide and play Farniok.

Then of course it is hand wringing time for 2 injuries but at a certain point you need some context. How many teams are 7 deep in average starting caliber backups? At that point we see Edoga and the rookie.

If Waletzko can play then we are 7 deep.

The good thing about this.......we now know LG IS a priority and they are not happy with the status quo. I'm guessing we will see a mid-level signing or trade for a tackle or guard.
Not really. The Cowboys think Bergeron is top level player. I don’t think playing guard meant that much. If they really wanted a legitimate guard they would have drafted Torrence in the 2nd.

If I had to guess right now, I think Waletzko is going to turn out to be a starting-quality tackle in the vein of Doug Free. Really solid movement skills with some trouble with power. It looks like they missed on Ball (but the jury's still out at least a bit), and may have hit on Waletzko. Edoga also looks like a better guard than tackle, and who knows about this year's draft pick?

I think all of us would have liked for them to have picked the next Larry Allen, but that doesn't mean what they have isn't good enough. We just have to wait to find out. Of course, even if we drafted Torrence, we'd still have to wait to find out.

This , means that they are either still looking at FAs or Richard is the candidate , we will know once minicamps start.
