Do other teams show this kind of footage
I doubt it, but others teams certainly don't show their draft board voluntarily either. With the Cowboys it's all about the fear of people thinking they made a mistake or forced a pick or in this case perhaps the talk of getting one upped by Buffalo moving up and taking their guy. They just need to make sure everyone knows they got the guy they wanted. They put it out as a positive, but it's a negative to me. Just trust your scouts and don't worry about the outside noise. Thank God for Will McClay. I always picture him as a calming force in a room full of people running around in circles and banging their heads against the wall like the zombies are coming and panicking that they don't know what to do. Although this clip did show a very calm group, but that isn't nearly as funny as how I picture it in my head.

Honestly this team talent level has picked up over the last 10 years thanks to Will McClay I'm so glad he won that debate because as good as our defense was last year we still were getting pushed around in the run game until we got Hankins. I personally think once Quinn takes Mazi out that two gapping mentality and have him using his athleticism along with that power he clearly possesses we could be looking at our version of a Chris Jones. The caveat not mentioned in this is KC was trying to trade into our spot to get this guy.

You can see how respected and powerful his voice is in that room.

One of the other best moments from draft weekend was Jerry talking about will like he wasn't in the room in the post draft presser...I recommend everyone watch that.
I saw that and that's about as close as you're going to get with Jerry of him saying this guy is why we are getting guys like Micah Parsons and Zack Martin

The good thing about this.......we now know LG IS a priority and they are not happy with the status quo. I'm guessing we will see a mid-level signing or trade for a tackle or guard.
Interesting take, but I almost got the exact opposite from the video. Sounded to me like they were considering Bergeron because they felt he was high value at that pick, but ended up going with Mazi because he would contribute right away. We also heard McClay say that he preferred Mazi because they had depth along the Oline.

Maybe they will shock me and still make a move along the Oline, but I'm skeptical. Partly because while they entertained Oline early on draft day it clearly wasn't a priority position, and party because finding starters on the Oline after the draft becomes pretty difficult.

True.......but at some point we have to accept Torrence was not on their radar. Remember Stephen saying couple of weeks ago some players were graded 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounders on their board that may have different grades on other teams' boards and vice versa?
Torrence is a man guy that is at least questionable to get upfield. The Cowboys are going to play more outside zone than they've played before and inside zone as well. You don't look for guys like Torrence to play outside zone.

I truly hope this is really how they come to decisions in this franchise.

Richards played left tackle. I think he will push for a spot also. Kick him inside and gives you tackle flex. He was a combine invite, so apparently some folks thought he had some skill or he wouldn't have been invited.
He will starting at LG at some point. Probably in 2024. He needs to spend some time getting stronger.

I can easily see Tyron retirement, Tyler LOT and Richards LOG then.
