Jerry didn't even win those SBs as GM. He was GM in name only.
Well maybe more GMs need to adopt the "name only" method!!!

I'm not complaining about it. I just think he lets it bother him a bit too much.Everyone discusses what's on their mind. It's OK!!!!!
I would argue Jimmy Johnson was the real GM and assembled those 3 SB winning teams.
Yeah but it usually makes me feel better, lol. With all due respect, @Bobhaze , it seems the more you complain about Jerry, the more you look for reasons to complain about Jerry.
None of us need convincing, brother. We all know we need a real GM, and that Jerry needs to just sign checks and root for the team. But it's not likely to happen, and getting it off your chest doesn't seem to be getting it off your chest.
New issues are always coming up which is a reminder of our core issues and why they must always be addressed . Especially for any new fans coming aboard .Everyone discusses what's on their mind. It's OK!!!!!
Honestly, it doesn’t bother me at all. Unlike when I was a young man, I actually never get upset with what happens with Cowboys.I'm not complaining about it. I just think he lets it bother him a bit too much.
Those are the only two. 30/32 NFL owners hire a GM.Who are the other teams other than Cowboys/Bengals not to have GMs?
You mean accomplishing all of the goals they set out for the franchise? The results they’ve been getting probably won’t change either.
Jazz, honestly for me it has zero to do with disliking Jerry. I don’t personally dislike him. Here’s what I strongly dislike: His results as a GM the last 26 years. That’s what I don’t like. I also don’t like thinking that if it worked 27 years ago it can work again. THAT’S where my dislike is focused. It’s nothing personal.ALL owners are GM's, they just do not carry the title as Jerry does (and Mike Brown).
Don't think for a second they are not around in meetings, or at least pop in at times, and are not being kept informed of everything.
They are still the ultimate decision maker. These GM's do not have a blank check to do as they please without the owners final approval.
I understand the dislike for Jerry. Yes, he needs to stay in the back ground more. But is it really worth whining 24 / 7 / 365 about?
I guess if it makes one feel better to vent though.

Good, I'm glad to hear it!Honestly, it doesn’t bother me at all. Unlike when I was a young man, I actually never get upset with what happens with Cowboys.
In fact at this point, I find a lot of humor in the Jerry situation. Most fans know he’s the biggest problem we have, but like the people in the “Emperor’s New Clothes” story, we also have to play along with the Jones charade to even remain a fan. So there’s real humor in that. And it’s weirdly entertaining in a small way because it’s just so predictable.
Honestly, I enjoy the Cowboys a lot. Win or lose. Nowadays it’s like being a Cubs fan. Loyalty is stronger than results. And someday we will win again and hopefully in my lifetime.
At this point in my life, I don’t get upset about anything as trivial as sports.
I mean, somebody had to hire Jimmy to begin with. And you would have a compelling argument, no doubt. But it would hold more weight if Jimmy was able to do the same in Miami, but he didn't. If he'd won atleast one Superbowl away from Dallas, I would give him 100% credit for the Cowboys success.
He and Jerry succeeded together.... a lil more credit swinging Jimmy's way, but Jerry had alot to do with it too.
Especially after firing Tom Landry to hire him.
A successful run family business as well. The Joneses have 8 billion reasons not to change. The Cowboys were the first franchise to ever make a billion dollars in one season last year. Did you see them yucking it up on First Take Thursday and the celebration week at the stadium without the real players playing in the games. I can see the Joneses handing the reins over to Sean Payton or a hot shot GM next season.Heard this a 1000 times before.....but makes no difference.....The Dallas Cowboys are a family ran organization and will remain that way......its not about championships its about Family and its been that way for 26 plus years and not gonna change anytime soon.
Well the story goes Jimmy decided to trade Herschel Walker. Jimmy made the draft selections, coached the team. Jerry signed the checks, so I guess that equates to 50%?And you would have a compelling argument, no doubt. But it would hold more weight if Jimmy was able to do the same in Miami, but he didn't.
