I'm confused, why would a DC sports writer include multiple comments on the Dallas QB's social life in a piece writen the morning after a Washington play off loss?

Is he trying to get a new gig at People?

that was my question.

I have all the respect in the world for joe gibbs and the job that was done by the Commanders this season. I thought they were a playoff team going into the year, they are very talented.

However, what in the world does Tony Romo have to do with yesterdays game? WHy is it in an article unless the writer is a hack trying to stir the pot.

Howcome it wasnt mentioned in there that romo is there with witten and his wife?

Its stupid, Commanders fans at least real ones should be embarrassed by all this Dallas talk the morning after a loss. There are alot of good Commanders fans I am sure they think this article is as short sighted and ignorant as we do.

Good question.

Washington was on a winning streak. The reasons were that Sean Taylor's death was a great inspiration or Gibbs' genius in December would carry over into January or blah, blah, blah.

All that came to an abrupt end. Seattle karate chopped their Cinderella story, not Dallas, but who gets chewed up by Wilbon for it? Dallas. Astounding.

Oh come on. He naturally would like to see the Skins do well since he reports for them but don't question the guy's loyalty to the Bears. Do you really think he was torn when Chicago came to DC a few weeks ago? He wanted the Bears 100% to win like he should have.

As we've been scolded by several Cowboys beat writers, just because you report on a team doesn't mean you naturally have to wish them to do well.

Of course, Wilbon goes further than that. He's a fan of the Commanders. He roots for them and he writes like a homer for them. The only difference between him and other DC area writers is that he has two teams that he roots for.

You know, I joined this site because I was truly touched by the compassion and understanding here after Sean's death. Where did all of this go? I am not making excuses at all. We lost to a better team. Let me say that again. WE LOST TO A BETTER TEAM. They dominated our offensive line and we really had no business being in the game in the 4th quarter.

I am just trying to provide you with another point of view as to why the media and the fans are not trying to kill this team right now. I don't know. Maybe you need to go through all this to understand.

Good luck to you next week.

Believe it or not, everyone still has compassion for #21's death, however, you cannot exploit it forever! It's over, done with. This site gave you all we could, but now it's time to move on.

I don't care what or why the media, you Skin fans, or anyone else keeps harping on that death to give the Commanders some sympathy, pity, or whatever you want to call it. Actually, it's getting embarassing just hearing about it, seeing things about it, and having to deal with it every game...it's over, done with. It would be better to pick yourself up by the seat of the pants and move on.

Oh, and "thanks" for "the good luck"...

Wow.

1. The Skins should have scored a TD getting the possession where they did.
2. They were still leading even after that missed field goal.
3. The Skins shouldn't have even been in the playoffs to begin with.
4. Wilbon is a moron.
5. *** does the Cowboy's days off have anything to do with the Commanders?
6. The Skins fans are dellusional and full of themselves.
7. Neither the Cowboys fans, coaches, or players were scared in the least at facing a way over-matched Skins team.

Wilbon's article was nothing short of disgusting. I used to have respect for him, but its is all gone now. Blaming it on the kicker when they lost by three touchdowns? Saying nothing about how Moss quit on one of the most crucial plays of the games? Contrasting Romo's trip to Mexico with Gibbs sleeping on the couch? Trash article worthy of a tabloid.....

Since 1990 Washington has won in Texas Stadium three times: 1991 (by two points), 1995, and 2005 (by one point). That's a glowing record of 3-15. Just wanted to throw that out there to all the Skins who said they weren't afraid of playing in Dallas.

What is with Commanders fans and reporters obsession with thinking Dallas is scared of them? Do they honestly believe the best team in the NFC was sitting at home saying "damn I sure hope that we dont have to play the 6 seed" Seriously guys. The Cowboys couldnt give a damn who came to town.

What was interesting, is Wilbon thought that Alexander was being made to look ordinary by the skins defense. From what I have seen and read, Alexander has looked ordinary for most of the season. Even Moose and the other guy were talking about how the Hawk coaches were thinking that Morris was looking better than the former MVP.

Field goals are worth 22 points?

I think he means that the missed FG changed the momentun if the game. If he made the FG the seahawks would have been down 17-13 but they were getting the ball off a missed FG which was a big momentum changer and that's why they lost the game

SA this is a serious question. Why are you on cowboyszone pretending to be a Cowboys fan, when I know you are a Commanders fan from ES?

The last time I checked NFL games were 60 minutes long, not 46 minutes and 3 seconds long.

So you are going to tell me that it's not a different type of feeling when you are down 17-13 vs 14-13? See it was easier for the seahawks to score a TD when they were down 14-13 because they didn't need ONE to take the lead. See what I mean???

It doesn't matter. Almost an entire quarter was left, Seattle was at home, they had moved the ball well at times in the game, their defense had been outstanding most of the game, and it was not a 2 score lead.

Momentum is fine, but it's a mirror and smoke with almost an entire quarter of football still on the clock.

By all means ask any player if he feels like momentum has swallowed them if the same situation was theirs and the FG was made.

It's a sorry excuse at best.

But see the Seahawks were OUT of it before that missed FG. And once Hasselback saw that he had another chance to redeem himself and that his previous INT did not HURT the team he was CONFIDENT again and never looked back.
