He had the would be tackle for loss that drew a holding call in his 12 snaps. But let's ignore that and keep the bashing going?

He simply rushed up field and was blocked on the play. Dont know why the tackle felt the need to hold him. And the RB should have cut inside that block much sooner than he did. The lane was there because Mincey was up field too far.

Did you see him on the wheel to Woodhead? Bishop looked like Usane Bolt copared to Mincey and Bishop has 40 pounds on him.

Mincey is what he is, a good DE vs the run and pretty average rushing the passer.

If someone wants to have a fit about Mincey, then blame Lawrence because he was the guy projected to give the team 500 snaps at the WDE spot. Mincey would have played run downs only and once in a while inside. The guy probably would have had 400 snaps tops.

Mincey is arguably the best DE on the team vs the run (as long as Spenser is not out there) and that has a purpose.

Some are projecting Mincey as being the DE version of Hayden and that ain't even close to being accurate.

Average pass rusher? Name even 5 pass rushing DEs that he's better than. Let alone 16.

That's asking a lot for him to cover Woodhead. Moronic play design/calling there. I don't blame him for that.

He absolutely is better suited for the strongside. And as second string.

Thats why I question this coaching staff. Crawford has more pass rush ability in his surgically repaired achilles tendon than all of Minemeat.

But yet Crawford remains a backup on the strongside to Selvie. And Selvie is a better pass rusher than Meat. And both Crawford and Selvie are better run stoppers. Crawford by a large margin.

Id even put money down that Bush gives us more than Meat.

What did the Cowboys see in this guy? He's got to have the slowest release of any RE in the league. I just rewatched the SD game and it's like he was wearing concrete shoes.

It will be extremely painful to watch Ware in Denver and Mincey here.

Agreed that he shouldnt have been asked to even attempt to cover. And did our defensive coordinator think he had the ability to do so? If so, what the hell has he been watching.

Mincey clearly doesnt even remotely have close to the athletic ability to do so. He looked awful running. He could quite possibly be the slowest guy we have.

Im just waiting for him to get "injured" and milk the rest of camp. Then maybe get a settlement when he's hppefully cut.

And to think we gave him a 4+ million dollar contract at the very start of FA. ugh.

Which means our personnel meetings over the winter concluded with the goal of aggressively targeting Jeremy Mincey and Terrell McClain at the start of free agency.

LOL its hilarious reading some of these debbie downers, i mean holy ****, you'd think we just got beat down in a playoff game reading some of this nonsense. Maybe Mincey was slower because it was the first football game of the year, not to mention PRESEASON, and he's still a bit rusty? Maybe, JUST maybe, he might actually improve as the season PROGRESSES, but most likely he's just terrible, washed up, and slow as **** and will never be anything more than that and we're just screwed.

Yeah, he's just rusty. Like tin man rusty. But there aint no Dorothy here to fix him not being able to move and no Oz to give him a heart.

If you're just looking at the Cowboys from last season:

Ware had a sack every 108 snaps.
Selvie had a sack every 95 snaps.
Jarius Wynn had a sack eery 140 snaps.
Kyle Wilber (while playing DE) had a sack every 165 snaps.

Last season Mincey had a sack every 117 snaps.

No, I do not consider Mincey to be a good pass rusher. I'd rather see someone else out there on passing downs.

A pretty good stacking of evidential chips, there...

I would rather see someone else out there every down. Looking at him lumbering down the field like a complete stiff on the Woodhead reception was enraging.

For Marinelli to value "quick twitch", he certainly chose to look the other way from all appearances.

No, Mincey isn't the type of 4-3 DE that we're accustomed to seeing. He has no quick twitch and is pretty much a "power" guy.

He is a stiff that simply has no business being on the field in this kind of scheme.

Seattle used guys like the lumbering Red Bryant at DE, and had success.

No, it's not what I'm use to seeing either.

I'd rather see Lawrence out there for 40 snaps a game and MIncey out there for 20 but it is what it is at the moment.
