The more I watch this offense, WR is a blinking light need!

I don’t disagree that the offense definitely needs another weapon, I just think there is a giant middle ground between what’s currently on the roster and using a top 15 pick on a WR2. That feels like a luxury pick for a team adding the final piece…we are no where near that stage.

Mingo was the WR they chose. I don't agree with continuously pouring resources into WR. Fix the trenches over a WR.

We collect WR’s & TE’s like baseball cards yet they collect dust . For whatever it’s worth Tolbert has found the endzone and Brooks made a nice move to get open back of the end zone yesterday .

I’m not convinced the delivery system isn’t the problem ( QB’s & WR coach ) rather then all these receivers being Jags as complained about .

a BETTER OC would accomplish as much as getting another WR and probably more

They might…but I think we’d agree they’d still need to sign another DT which I highly doubt they’d do.
They have holes all through the roster, if they fail to use fa as they always do, we can expect similar results

If only this team had a WR like Cooper to be the #2 next to Lamb.
Probably would cost a 1st to get though.

All for another WR in the draft, but it's unlikely we'll get immediate contributions. For every CDL/Jefferson that can play right away, there's more guys that need a year to get up to speed/strength.

If we don’t get or like a WR, would a top TE be a substitute?

If clear cut BPA, sure. Not a reach like Schoon cause there was a TE run.

I kind of disagree. I'm probably in the minority but I think the OL is taking shape and would like to see the offense add some weapons. It'll never happen but I'd love to see the team sign Higgins, draft BPA in the first and a guy like Hampton in the second. And if BPA is Burden, Banks or Ebuka, so be it. I think Burden, Starks or Jalon Walker may be BPA when we're on the clock and would rather see one of them wearing the star than going for a DT just because he's a DT. Must resign Osa.
I just posted a thread in Fan Zone on resigning Osa..........it's a dicey call but I agree, he's a damn good player.

WR is a premier position and a difference maker in modern NFL offenses. Should be a top priority in round 1.

We can't run our entire offense through Ceedee.

Brooks and Tolbert do not scare defenses and are not getting separation most of the time when they are one-on-one.

The other issue is the FA pool is pretty sparce and this is not a very deep WR class so not sure how they are going to add a difference maker to get this offense back on track unless they get one early in the draft.

The only other option is signing a decent cap casualty free agent ( I'm hearing Deebo, Amari Cooper, Lockett and KirK just to name a few)
Also keep an eye on Stephon Diggs.......the Vikes have no intention of bringing back after the injury. He and his brother have talked about wanting to play together. Coming off an ACL, he will have to settle for a prove-it deal. Jerry's kind of signing to a T.....

I go back and forth with Osa. Good rushing the passer, but below average run defender which is the defense's biggest weakness.
You are exactly right.......it gets dicey. As stated before, he and Mazi have started 2 years together and our run defense is near the bottom. Now it could be we still need that huge NT/1 tech and THAT could be an offseason priority. Remember Zimm standing at the podium and clearly saying he needed some NTs.? Jerry just called him one of the best DC in the league ........so he will probably get the players he wants this offseason.

Osa is not a below average run defender. From all of last year:

“There are only two defensive tackles who have Top 10 grades in run defense and pass rush:

1. Dexter Lawrence
2. Osa Odighizuwa”

He just needs better 1T play beside and more depth so he isn’t playing a million snaps a year. It shouldn’t be a surprise that as Mazi has gotten better down the stretch the run D has looked a little better.

In my opinion, has his struggles against the better team around the league. The 49er game this year sticks out to me about questioning if he is a 10 million type of player.
