You sound just like Wade...conjuring up another useless excuse for the fact that this team isn't very good.

Yeah, that's it...it's THE FANS fault...lol.

Have you ever stopped to consider that this team, for the past 15 years, may have conditioned the current fan base to expect the worse when the going gets tough?

And, maybe, just maybe, when the defense allowed the Chargers to march right down the field, yet again, after the offense had tied up the game, the fans went into "here we go again" mode. And, as it turns out, the fans, had they actually thought that, were actually proven correct!

The December nose-dive is a fact. Wade's career record in December is a fact. Jerry's lack of playoff victories in the past 13 years is fact.

You were there...why didn't your mighty support help them to do better? Oh, that's because you have no bearing on the field.

Like I said, the TEAM (from Jerry on down) is responsible for their play.

NOT the fans.

At long last, a respected voice on this board is repeating what I and so many others have been saying for the past two or three years. The root problem with this team lies with the owner.

He simply is not a good GM. That's not to say he's terrible. He's mediocre -- just good enough to sting together the 8 or 9 wins necessary to perpetuate the false hope that a 'new outlook and approach' is all that's needed to bring about different results in a continuous and unending string of next years.

I, for one, am tired of buying his snake oil.

I stopped buying after the 2007 collapse....I am now a casual observer and my family and my health thank me all the time...until Jerry gives the reigns to someone else, I will sit back and observer from afar...this team is mentally weak, unfocused and undisciplined....it has not changed one iota since we won the last Super Bowl in 1995.

and your totally taking what I am saying in the wrong direction. I am not using the fans as an excuse for the team struggling.

I just think it sucks, People here wont stand up for the team in hard times.

It has nothing to do with the team winning or losing.

It would be nice if the fans were into the game and had the same venom when they are in the stadium and the team is playing defense as when the game is over and they call the postgame shows to fire everyone and cut all the players.

IF you cant understand what I am saying dont respond to me. I have not made and I am not making excuses for the team losing.

this season is over, another in a long line of disasters.
jerry is the root of the problem, he and the clowns he hires as coaches.
until this changes the cowboys will be mediocre.

As I was leaving a frigid Texas Stadium after the game, I was walking right behind a Dad and his boy. The boy must have been 7 or 8 years old and was crying about the result. Some people might roll their eyes, but I knew how the boy felt. When you are young, and you love a sports team, you believe the games and the seasons will all have the happy endings of the Disney movies that you watch. Guess what, son, if you are going to pledge allegiance to a team as it appears you have with the Dallas Cowboys, I want to welcome you to the fellowship of the die-hards. Understand, that once you do, you are not allowed out of this commitment, and you should also understand that most seasons are going to end in tears. A favorite team is the only thing a male human feels the same about when he is 5 and when he is 45 and when he is 75. You will change your mind on everything else. Girls, money, hobbies. But, you will always still feel the adrenaline rush of a win, and the gutting sadness of a horrible loss. I didn’t say anything to the boy, as his Dad was handling it (and he might not have welcomed my advice) but I felt for him. Welcome to sports, young man. Someday, you may live to see a championship or five, but most years will end with your guts spilling onto the floor. - December 21, 2008
