Nice first post, Skins fan....

Thank you - but doesn't the O-line worry you as much as Brunell's health worries me?

Not quite as much. Our OL was fine last year until Adams was injured.

I'd also add the major upgrade at RT, the bulking up of Al Johnson, and the continued healing of Rivera. This line will be just fine barring injury.

No. It was pretty good last year, when healthy.

If they can just be "pretty good" this year and stay healthy, I'm fine with that.

The offensive line gave up 10 sacks in three games to non-playoff teams and averaged about 3.3 yards per carry while Adams was healthy. That constitues fine?

The line is a big question mark - Fabini is clearly on the downside of his career, don;t know anything about Kosier, but he has some big shoes to fill.

I am not calling this verison of the Skins line is the next coming of the Hogs, but they have played together now for two years and are becoming a unit. I would say the Cowboys have the worst line in the NFC East.

It's cool to just ignore that the offensive line also supported Bledsoe well enough to make him the #1 passer in the NFC.

Bledsoe was one of the NFL's best QBs when Flo was in the lineup, so yeah

Fabini may not even start, and what big shoes does Kosier have to fill? Larry was a shell of his former self, and couldnt get out into the 2nd level and block anyone

the line may be a question, but we have the weapons on O to offset that

Enough of the thread Hijack..

I think Philly's got a lot to prove.. definitely overated now that the NFC East is back with 4 competitive teams.

The Seahags... That division has been weak and they are another team that sits down after they get punched in the mouth.

The Steelers.. yep.. the superbowl champs.. overrated.. well coached, but I'm not overwhelmed by the talent of their players. They win most of their games at the LOS and by not making big mistakes.

You know, I think the biggest complement someone can give to a player is to say they hate him.

Hate Tom Brady? For winning 3 Super Bowls? Hate him because he beat your team so often? Hate him for crushing someone else's dreams?

I remember when Troy, Emmitt, and Michael were hated.

I bet no one hates Drew Bledsoe.

It's funny, I remember we used to hate opposing players back when we were in JHS. I thought maturity and growing up meant moving past that.

I don't hate any player other than TO ... and that's for personal reasons.

I have the utmost respect for Tom Brady and dream of having a QB like him on the Cowboys.

The most overrated team to me is the CAROLINA PANTHERS.....For the past 2 years people has picked this team as the favorite in the NFC and what have they done in the past 2 years? People this year still think they are the team to beat? I mean why???? What do they have that other teams in the NFC dont have? I admire there defense and thats it! Jake Delhomme is an average QB nothing special, they dont have a true running back......all they have is Steve Smith.....and if he goes down this coming season like he did the year before Carolina is a horrible team.......I think they are just as even as any other top team in the NFC. At one point and time 3 years ago they were the best team but now they are not and the sure as heck havent proved to be.....so i think they are the most overrated team!

The most overrated team is the Arizona Cardinals. The posted a bad record in a horrible division, but are somehow expected to compete for a playoff spot. Some experts even expect this team to give Seattle a run for the division title!

In that division, practically any of them could take the division. Seattle was really aided by playing in it last year. That division has become just like the old NFC West was for years. One decent team (Seattle) and three weaklings (SF, STL and Arizona).

Not a one of them would survive five minutes in the NFC East.

Bledsoe the NFL's best QB? I am not going to dignify that with a remark!

Who's going to start then?

I have several friends who were Cowboy fans who lauded Allen up until he was released (much like many Skins fans lauding Arrington until he was cut - me not being one of them).

Who cares about weapons if you're QB is on his back and you're avering less than 3.5 YPC?

Flozell went down week 6, In week 1-6 Dallas allowed a total of 10 sacks in 6 games. He was replaced by a guy who gave up a dozen sacks in the next 10 games. Pettiti was not aforded help from TE's and RBs after Flo went down because Tucker needed help at LT so Petitti gave up 13 sacks.

Those 25 sacks have either went to another team, or replaced in the lineup

The line is a big question mark
-

Not really

Fabini is clearly on the downside of his career, don;t know anything about Kosier, but he has some big shoes to fill.

Fabini is clearly an upgrade over what we had there last year, Kosier can hit a moving target which is a step in the right direction

I am not calling this verison of the Skins line is the next coming of the Hogs, but they have played together now for two years and are becoming a unit. I would say the Cowboys have the worst line in the NFC East.

You can say that, but we still have a good enough line for our offense to work and put us in the playoffs

Barely making the playoffs in the weakest division in football last year, then getting blown out in Denver. Not very impressive in my book.

Maybe you should read what he actually said moron.

What is with the illiterate trolls lately?

sure sure sure

Point being is our line is good enough to keep Bledsoe up long enough to hurt a team, as evidenced by the fact that he WAS the #1 ranked passer in the NFC for the first half of the season before Flozell got hurt.

Pittsburgh....worst SB champion EVER
Toilet bowl was embarrassing to watch, pathetic

Yet they nearly swept the NFC East this past season on their way to the SB (3-1). And then made up for their one loss by beating the Commanders in the playoffs.

Hmmm...

The Panthers are the real deal....they went to the superbowl 3 years ago and nearly won. Had an off year with injuries in 2004, then bounced back to make it all the way to the NFC championship as a wildcard. John Fox is very underrated as a head coach. They have a great defensive front seven, Delomme is a top 5 QB, and Steve Smith is just now entering his prime. Losing Witherspoon was huge, but they did add Keyshawn and we all know he's nothing short of a consummate professional. Despite the fact we pulled one out against them late in the season, they are the only team that scares me in 2006....

In addressing the original poster...The Answer thinks it's ludicrous to say that the Pats are overrated. You don't win 3 championships in 4 years by mistake. And you don't go 10-1 in the playoffs as a head coach or QB (Belechik and Brady) unless you are doing something right. They did get lucky last year in making the playoffs by default due to a very weak division, but they had a great draft and will among the best teams in the league in 2006.

As for who The Answer truly feels is the most overrated team in the NFL, that distinction goes to the Colts. They have racked up wins year after year playing in a very weak division, but despite finishing with the best record in the league still couldn't even win ONE playoff game.

I said that there defense is the only thing I admire about them. Jake Delhomme is not a top 5 QB, If he is a top 5 QB Drew Bledsoe should be also because last time I checked there stats very very similar.......this team doesnt even have a RB......3 years ago....that was 3 years ago....The Eagles went 2 years ago? so what.....John Fox is a good head coach......I live in SC and I watched every single game they played last year and I just dont see what everyone see about them.....they are a well-balanced team but surely is not the team to beat next year.
